What you can make with Seedream 4.5

  • A woman with dark curly hair in an emerald satin gown with an open back leans on a rooftop rail at blue hour and looks back at the camera, with a glowing city, a river, string lights and a glass of champagne on the ledge

    4K widescreen

    A cinematic frame at 6240 x 2656

A 21:9 frame at 4k: a woman in an emerald satin gown on a Manhattan rooftop at blue hour, string lights, a city that stretches out behind her and a glass of champagne on the ledge.

    Text to image, 21:9, 4k.

  • A 1970s-style film poster with the title THE VELVET HOUR in cream serif capitals, a woman in a red satin dress and a man in a white shirt dancing close under a spotlight in an empty ballroom, and IN CINEMAS THIS WINTER along the bottom

    Exact text

A poster with its title spelled right

The title THE VELVET HOUR and the line IN CINEMAS THIS WINTER came out as quoted on a 2:3 poster at 2k. Quote each string and say where it goes.

    Poster text, 2:3, 2k.

  • A woman with long red hair and freckles in a red satin gown with a draped neckline and thin straps stands on a marble staircase in an opera house lobby, one hand on a brass rail, a crystal chandelier above her

    Two references

    One woman, another picture's gown

Image 1 supplied the woman and Image 2 a red satin gown. The result keeps her face, freckles and red hair, copies the gown's draped neckline and thin straps, and puts her on an opera-house staircase.

Edit with two references, 3:4, 2k.

Content test

Is Seedream 4.5 uncensored? What we tested

We ran each level on our live setup and checked every clip frame by frame. A pass means the content was actually on screen, not just that the request went through.

How each mode behaves

All modes
Text in the picture was right in our tests, but they were English only and a few strings; check each result. There is no seed and no negative prompt, no output format switch, and each request returns one image. Identical requests return different images.
Image editing
Editing has no auto ratio, so pick the closest one to your source. Faces change a little under big changes: in our 1940s black-and-white edit the woman stayed recognisable but her features shifted slightly. Output size follows the source image a little, so do not rely on exact pixel counts.
All modes
Content levels are not all equal. In our tests Very strong came back toned down in both endpoints, and in editing Strong did too. Most requests are usually done in under half a minute, longer for 4K or several references.
All modes
Every person you describe must be an adult. You are responsible for the lawfulness of what you generate and publish. Generated media is retained for 14 days and then deleted.

Use cases

What to build with the Seedream 4.5 API

  • Posters, ads and product shots

A film poster with a title and a tagline, a perfume bottle with an engraved name, a campaign frame in 4K. Quote the text and place it.

  • Outfit and wardrobe swaps

Put the garment from one picture on the person in another and move her to a new place, as in the opera staircase edit on this page.

  • Restyling a portrait

Turn one portrait into a seaside terrace at golden hour or a 1940s black-and-white still while keeping her recognisable.

  • Unfiltered stills

Nothing is filtered, and most content levels come back as written in our tests. Editorial frames, after-hours scenes and dramatic portraits run on the same endpoints as everything else.

Prompts

  • Text to image

    Rooftop at blue hour

Cinematic film still, ultra-wide frame. A woman in her late twenties with dark curly hair, in a backless emerald satin evening gown, leans on the rail of a Manhattan rooftop at blue hour and glances back over her shoulder at the camera. City lights stretch out below, warm string lights glow behind her, a half-empty glass of champagne rests on the ledge. 50mm, shallow depth of field, rich teal and amber palette, fine film grain.

Why it works. A named frame, a lens, a palette and a few props give a cinematic result, and the ultra-wide ratio at 4k keeps the city readable.

  • Text to image

    1970s film poster

A 1970s-style film poster. At the top, in large cream serif capitals: "THE VELVET HOUR". In the middle, a woman in a red satin slip dress and a man in an open-collar white shirt dance close together under a single spotlight in an empty ballroom, her cheek near his. At the bottom, in small spaced capitals: "IN CINEMAS THIS WINTER". Grainy offset-print texture, burgundy and gold palette, thin gold border.

Instead of “A vintage film poster called The Velvet Hour with a dancing couple.”

Why it works. Each string of text is quoted and given a place and a type style, so the title and the bottom line come out as written.

  • Text to image

    Perfume bottle ad

Luxury perfume advertisement. A faceted black glass bottle stands on wet black stone, a single drop running down the glass, one narrow beam of warm gold light from the left. Engraved on the bottle in gold: "NOIR VELOURS". Bottom centre, in thin gold sans-serif capitals: "EAU DE PARFUM". Studio product photography, deep shadows, crisp reflections.

Why it works. The bottle, the stone and the light are described once, and the two text lines say which is engraved and which sits at the bottom.

  • Image editing

Gown from one picture, woman from another

Dress the woman from Image 1 in the red satin gown from Image 2. Keep her face, freckles and long red hair exactly as in Image 1. Place her on a marble staircase in an opera house lobby at night, one hand on the brass rail, looking down at the camera, warm chandelier light, full-length shot.

Instead of “Put the dress on her and make it look like an opera house.”

Why it works. Each reference gets a job by number, and the prompt says what to keep from Image 1, so the woman stays recognisable in the new gown.

  • Image editing

    New place, new outfit

Keep the face, hair and pose of the woman in Image 1. Move her to a sunlit Mediterranean terrace with whitewashed walls, blue shutters and pink bougainvillea, change her outfit to a white linen sundress, and light the scene with golden late-afternoon sun from the left.

Why it works. It names what to keep, then the place, the outfit and the light, so one portrait moves to a new scene.

  • Image editing

    1940s film-noir still

Turn Image 1 into a 1940s film-noir still. Same woman and same face. Black and white, hard shadows from a venetian blind striping her face and the wall behind her, hair set in vintage waves, a dark tailored jacket over a silk blouse, rain streaking a window beside her.

Why it works. A strong era and lighting brief restyles the portrait while keeping her recognisable, though features can shift a little in black and white.

Get started

How to use the Seedream 4.5 API in three steps

  1. Step 1

Pick the endpoint by what you are holding

A written idea goes to Text to Image. Pictures you want to change, restyle or combine go to Image Editing. On the family call, a request with image_urls is routed to editing and one without goes to text to image.

  2. Step 2

Quote the words you want in the picture

Write each string in quotation marks and say where it sits and how it looks, as in the poster and perfume examples on this page. Our tests were in English; check the spelling before you publish.

  3. Step 3

Name each reference by its number

In Image Editing, say what each picture is for: the woman from Image 1, the gown from Image 2. References are numbered in the order you upload them, and a prompt that gives each one a job keeps them from blending.

Parameter reference and code samples are in the API and Readme tabs at the top of this page.
