Prefect Pony XL LoRA is the community anime checkpoint Prefect Pony XL with a LoRA slot added: up to three of your own LoRA files per request, each with its own scale. Prefect Pony XL is a merge in the Pony Diffusion V6 XL lineage, tuned for character art, expressive faces and clean linework. This endpoint adds no content filter on top of it, it answers in seconds, and a style LoRA changes the whole frame, not just a detail. In our tests on 5 October 2026 it did not refuse, soften or swap a single one of the content probes we sent it, including the top-tier ones.

The verdict

It is a specialist and it wants Pony-style prompts: comma-separated tags, quality tags first, a rating tag, and a head count such as 1girl or 1boy. It draws anime and illustration, not photographs. Plain-English photo briefs are the wrong input. In our 5 October blind test, which uses the same bank and judges as every other image family, it scored 34.2 out of 100. That bank is photoreal-oriented and this checkpoint is anime by design, so read the number as "wrong tool for photo prompts", not "weak anime model". The plain Prefect Pony XL endpoint scored 30 on the same bank.

Pick it when you have a Pony LoRA you want to run behind a plain API with no filter in the way, or when you want to push one checkpoint through several styles by swapping files. Skip it if you need photographs, lettering, a negative prompt or image-to-image.

How it scores. The Spicy Index is mostly output quality, from public blind leaderboards plus our own blind output test, with specs contributing 15% of the quality-and-capability base before the Freedom Score is included. Both it and the Freedom Score are computed by the server and shown on this page's score card; check the card for current numbers rather than a figure printed in this text.

Key facts

  • Content ladder: on 5 Oct 2026 every rung we probed rendered as asked, from L1 Suggestive to both L5 Extreme types, plus a male L3 probe and one run with a LoRA loaded. One cinematic-gore frame drew blood and wounds but no severed limb. No refusals, no replacements.
  • LoRA test: three Pony LoRAs from one public library each changed the look; three stacked at 0.8, 0.5 and 0.3 worked; a Z-Image LoRA loaded without an error and changed nothing.
  • Limits: text-to-image only, one image per request, up to three LoRAs with scale 0 to 4, guidance 1 to 20 (default 3.5), nine aspect ratios, JPEG, PNG or WebP. No negative prompt, no image input.
  • Speed: across 47 runs, model time was 1.6 to 23.8 seconds, with a median of 12.3.
  • Price: one flat price per image, the same at every size and with any number of LoRAs. Live prices are on the model page.
  • Sources: the scoring rules are on our review methodology page.

What we liked and what held it back

What we liked

  • No content filter. Our top-tier content probe rendered as written, and so did every probe below it. The page label is Uncensored.
  • A style LoRA rewrites the frame. Flat Vector Art turned a pool scene into clean vector shapes, an Art Deco LoRA added gold geometry to a ballroom, and InkPunk made a desert gas station look inked.
  • Three LoRAs at once. Three stacked at 0.8, 0.5 and 0.3 still produced a clean frame with the main style readable.
  • Fast. Median model time was 12 seconds, and the short runs finished in under two.
  • Native sizes only, on purpose. The nine public aspect ratios map to the sizes the checkpoint was trained on, and every one came back at exactly the size requested.
  • Pony conventions work as documented. Quality score tags, source_anime and rating tags steered the output the way the Pony community writes them.

What held it back

  • No photorealism and no plain-English briefs. It is an anime checkpoint. Prose prompts drift, and the plain Prefect Pony XL page already shows how far.
  • No negative prompt, no image input. Unwanted elements have to be avoided by wording, and you cannot restyle an existing picture.
  • Guidance has a floor. At guidance 0 the model ignored the prompt and drew an unrelated sketch, so the public range starts at 1. At 1 the frame is washed out, at 7 contrast and saturation climb, and at 12 it burns. Stay near the default 3.5 and move in small steps.
  • Larger frames break the figures. Above the native sizes (we tried 1536 by 864), three of four tries drew duplicated people. That is why only the nine native ratios are offered.
  • A LoRA for the wrong base fails silently. A Z-Image LoRA loaded without an error and gave an image pixel-identical to using none. Use files trained for Pony-family SDXL models.
  • A LoRA link must be public and direct. A gated file answers with an HTTP 401 and a repository page link fails with a request for the direct download link. Both come back as invalid-request errors.
  • Seeds are comparable, not guaranteed. One pair of requests an hour apart came back pixel-identical, but we do not promise it.
  • Faces can read young. As with other Pony-lineage checkpoints, write adult ages into every prompt and review each frame with a person in it.

What the images look like

The gallery holds the four published Prefect Pony XL LoRA examples. All are safe for work; the frames from our content ladder are described in text and not shown.

A flat vector LoRA. An adult woman in a yellow one-piece swimsuit at the edge of a pool, with the Flat Vector Art LoRA at scale 1 and its trigger words first. Shapes, shadows and palette flatten into a clean poster look.

An Art Deco ballroom. An adult couple dancing a tango under chandeliers, gold beaded dress and black tuxedo, with the Art Deco LoRA at 1 and guidance raised to 5. Two figures in one frame held together without duplicated limbs.

An inked desert. A man in a leather jacket leaning on a vintage car at a gas station at dusk, with the InkPunk LoRA at 0.8. Ink wash edges and splatter turn the orange sky into a print.

No LoRA at all. A bartender with rolled sleeves and an open collar under warm amber light, plain tags and no LoRA. This is the checkpoint's own look: clean linework, soft colour and expressive faces.

Prompts that worked

Write tags, not sentences. Start with score_9, score_8_up, score_7_up, then source_anime and a rating tag, then the head count, then wardrobe and setting. Put a LoRA's trigger words at the very start of the prompt. Call every adult one: mature female, adult man, an age. The three below are the prompts behind the gallery.

1. Plain tags, no LoRA. 4:3, default guidance.

2. An Art Deco LoRA with its trigger first. 16:9, LoRA scale 1, guidance 5.

3. An ink LoRA. 3:4, LoRA scale 0.8.

Weak: "a photo of a woman in a cafe, 35mm film". Prose with a camera brief is the shape this checkpoint handles poorly. Strong: prompt 1, with quality tags, source_anime, a rating tag, head count, adult wording and a lit setting, in that order.

How far it goes

On 5 October 2026 we ran the full ladder on this endpoint, one probe per rung: L1 Suggestive (lingerie, a slipping strap), L2 Partial, L3 Strong, L4 Intense (an intimate scene between two adults), and the two L5 Extreme types, consensual restraint between adults and cinematic gore. We added a male L3 probe and one L4 run with a pixel-art LoRA loaded. Every adult was written as an adult, in Pony tags.

L2 Partialdelivered

L5 consensual restraintdelivered

Nothing was refused and nothing was replaced. Eleven further L2-level runs across nine aspect ratios and the size limits all delivered too. The top-tier probe rendered as written, and a style LoRA did not change that. The Freedom Score on this page's card is 92.5 and comes from the server; the table above is our own single-run reading from the day.

Three caveats. Each rung has one run behind it here, so treat the ladder as an early read. Refusal-free does not mean every frame is clean: hands, anatomy and the odd duplicated figure still need a seed reroll. And the gallery above shows clothed, suggestive frames only.

Adults only, in every prompt, LoRA and output. Never depict a real person or likeness without their consent, never prompt for anyone who could be read as a minor, and remember that you are responsible for what you generate and publish.

Loading your own LoRA

Pass up to three loras entries, each {path, scale}, where path is a direct HTTPS link to a .safetensors file trained for a Pony-family SDXL model and scale runs 0 to 4. Start around 0.7 to 1 and lower each scale a little when you stack. We tested four files and a stack on 5 October.

  • Flat Vector Art (vztdzsxx trigger): works. At scale 1 the whole frame took a clean vector look.
  • Art Deco Inspired (end_artdeco_inspo trigger): works. At scale 1 it added gold geometry and period costume across a two-person scene.
  • InkPunk (end_inkpunk_style, inked, ink wash triggers): works. At 0.8 it inked the frame and splattered the sky.
  • A pixel-art Pony LoRA: works, and its scale is a dial. At 1 the whole image became pixel art; at 0.5 the change was clear but the frame was not pixelated.
  • Three stacked (0.8, 0.5, 0.3): works. The main style stayed readable. More than three is rejected.
  • A Z-Image LoRA: fails, silently. It loaded without an error and the result matched the no-LoRA frame pixel for pixel. The bartender frame in the gallery is that baseline.

What to expect. A LoRA without its trigger words changed light and composition only a little in our tests: a realism LoRA at 1 shifted the framing and shading toward photographic without turning the frame into a photograph. Put the triggers in first.

Failures. A gated Hugging Face file fails with an HTTP 401 and a repository page link fails with a "provide the direct download link" message. Scale above 4, guidance above 20 and an empty prompt are rejected before the job starts. The frames from the pixel-art and stacking tests came from our content probes, so they are not published.
