Seedance 2.0 Fast Review: The 2.0 Line's Value Uncensored Pick

Pick Seedance 2.0 Fast for the 2.0 line's uncensored L1 to L3 rendering without paying for 4K; for L4 Intense, look elsewhere in our tests.

Seedance 2.0 Fast is the same three-task family as base 2.0 (text-to-video, image-to-video, reference-to-video) with the resolution ceiling cut to 720p and the price cut to roughly two-thirds of 2.0's rate. In our 24 September content-ladder run it matched base 2.0 rung for rung through L1 Suggestive, L2 Partial and L3 Strong: every one of those runs rendered as written across all three tasks. It hasn't been tested on L5 Extreme yet.

The verdict

On ordinary, non-adult prompts in our same-day arena run, 2.0 Fast handled a close-up "I missed you" delivery well enough that one judge scored it a perfect run on every dimension, and its herd-of-horses beach gallop showed more animals, including a visible foal, than the sparser group we saw from Seedance 1.5 Pro on the identical prompt. It shared the family's two weak spots: a second speaker's lip movements drifting out of sync in a two-person cafe scene, and flames from a wok sometimes growing large enough to partly hide the tossed food.

Pick it when the L1 to L3 pass rate is what you're after and 4K or 15-second-at-1080p isn't the point. For intimate L4 content specifically, our tests put it behind base 2.0 on the one task where 2.0 handled it (image-to-video), and well behind Seedance 2.5.

Key facts

  • Score card: see this page's score card and the Seedance 2.0 Fast test report for the full run-by-run record.
  • Pass rate on our ladder (24 Sep 2026): L1 to L3 rendered on every run across all three tasks; L4 Intense rendered on 2 of 9 attempts (both on text-to-video), the rest came back softened. L5 Extreme hasn't been run on this version yet.
  • Price: $0.045 per second at 480p, $0.097 at 720p (the ceiling and the default). Reference-to-video starts at $0.023 per second when you supply your own video clip.
  • Limits: 4 to 15 seconds per clip, up to 720p only, up to 9 reference images, 3 video clips and 3 audio files, no working seed.
  • Sources: every scored run is in the test report above, the scoring rules are on our review methodology page, and the full parameter list is on the Seedance 2.0 Fast model page.

What we liked and what held it back

What we liked

  • Matches base 2.0's L1 to L3 rate for less. Every suggestive, partial and L3 Strong prompt we ran came back as written, at roughly two-thirds of 2.0's per-second price.
  • A close-up delivery that landed cleanly. Our "I missed you" test clip drew a rare set of top marks from one judge for its lighting, motion and lip sync together, ahead of most of the other 32 models in that same round.
  • A fuller herd on the beach prompt. Given the same "herd of wild horses" wording as its siblings, 2.0 Fast's render showed more animals moving together, including a visible foal, than the smaller group we saw from Seedance 1.5 Pro on the identical prompt.
  • The same closing-frame trick as base 2.0. Pairing image_url with last_image_url gives a defined destination for a before-and-after shot, and it held up in our test the same way it did on 2.0.
  • Reference casting at a lower floor. Up to 9 images, 3 clips and 3 audio tracks, with the reference-video rate starting below the plain image-to-video rate when you supply your own footage.
  • Seven aspect ratios plus adaptive, same as the rest of the 2.0 line.

What held it back

  • L4 Intense mostly comes back softened. 7 of our 9 attempts were quietly turned into a tamer scene; only two text-to-video runs came through as written, and none did on image-to-video or reference-to-video.
  • Capped at 720p. There's no 1080p or 4K option here; for those, base Seedance 2.0 is the sibling to use.
  • The wok can still eat the food. Vegetables tossed through flame sometimes came out floating in a way that read as unnatural, per our judges, and the toss itself lost some of the pan's dramatic arc.
  • No working seed. Two identical requests return two different takes on every task.
  • Two-speaker sync isn't guaranteed. The same cafe-conversation flaw we saw across the whole 2.0 line showed up here too: one speaker's mouth didn't track her line as closely as the other's.
  • Guitar-playing hands are a known weak point. Fretting fingers blended together in our music-performance test, a flaw judges flagged on every sibling in this family.

What the clips look like

The gallery on this page holds published, safe-for-work examples from the Seedance 2.0 Fast model page. Our content-ladder clips aren't shown; we report the results only, in prose.

One mechanical event, held to the end. The image-to-video example is a macro shot of two hands as dominoes fall inward from both sides of a table and stop just short of touching. The still fixes the framing; the prompt only orders the fall and the stopping point.

Cast from your own footage. The reference-to-video example cuts a skate crew's part from supplied stills, clips and audio, three kinds of reference material read together into one edit rather than one still described in words.

Smoke that reveals and hides. The text-to-video example is a two-shot across a teppan counter at 2am, oil smoke drifting over both faces and clearing between beats. It's the clip published on the model page as run, request and all.

Our own arena test on ordinary prompts found the same pattern repeating across physical set pieces: the domino-fall and cat-leap tests came out clean and confident, while fire- and liquid-heavy scenes (a shattering wine glass, a flaming wok) were the ones most likely to drift from what was asked.

Prompts that worked

The same formula as base 2.0 works here: name the subject and wardrobe, one or two beats joined by "then," one camera instruction, one light source.

1. A single mechanical event (image-to-video, 5 s). Naming only the fall and the stopping point, not the room, gets the most out of a still that already fixed the framing.

text
The camera stays on the two hands closing in from either side. The dominoes fall inward from both ends of the table and stop between two hands that are almost, but not quite, touching. Macro, very shallow depth of field.

2. A reference stack with a clear job for each item (reference-to-video, 5 s). Naming what each reference contributes keeps the cast and the wardrobe from blurring.

text
Cut a skate crew's part from the supplied stills, clips and audio: sweat-soaked tank tops, hard afternoon light, concrete and grind noise.

3. Naming the sound source, not just the picture (text-to-video, 6 s). Written from nothing, at 720p with audio on.

text
Close two-shot across a teppan counter at 2am: she leans in with her collar open at the throat, he has his sleeves shoved past the elbow, and the oil smoke rising off the griddle keeps softening and revealing both faces.

Weak: long strings of atmosphere words with no event to anchor them. Strong: prompt 1. One clear mechanical action, described once.

How far it goes

Seedance 2.0 Fast's page label is Uncensored: we add no content filter on our side. Every L1 Suggestive, L2 Partial and L3 Strong prompt we ran on 24 September rendered as written across all three tasks. At L4 Intense, only 2 of 9 attempts came through, both on text-to-video; image-to-video and reference-to-video softened every L4 request we sent. L5 Extreme hasn't been run on this version yet.

Score card: the current numbers are on this page's score card, recalculated as we add runs.

The gap between 2.0 Fast and base 2.0 at L4 is narrow in absolute terms (2 of 9 against 1 of 9) but the pattern differs by task: 2.0 got its one hit on image-to-video, while 2.0 Fast's two hits were both on text-to-video. Neither task combination is reliable enough to plan around yet.

Not tested yet: L5 Extreme on this version; scenes with two women or two men above L1 Suggestive; a full 9-image reference stack.

Adults only, in every prompt, still and output. Never depict a real, identifiable person without their consent.
