Wan 2.2 LoRA is a single image-to-video endpoint built around Wan 2.2's two-pass architecture: a high-noise expert that decides composition and motion, and a low-noise expert that resolves detail and texture. You can attach up to three LoRA weight files to either pass separately, or to both at once, each with its own strength. Between 15 and 25 September 2026 we ran our content ladder with no LoRA attached: L1 Suggestive (lingerie, a slipping strap), L2 Mature themes and L3 Strong rendered clean on every try; L4 Intense (an intimate scene between two adults) rendered once and softened twice; the L5 Extreme restraint/impact probe rendered clean three times out of four, and the L5 Extreme gore probe rendered clean once out of three.

The verdict

That's a noticeably looser result than base Wan 2.2, which softened every L4 Intense run on its own image-to-video endpoint and refused everything on text-to-video. This endpoint carries an unrestricted policy tier rather than a softened one, which is presumably why the top rungs clear more often here even before a LoRA gets involved.

Pick it when you have a LoRA trained for Wan 2.2 and want to decide which pass it touches — motion and composition, fine texture, or both. Skip it if you're not going to load a LoRA; base Wan 2.2 or Wan 2.2 Spicy will do the same animation job for less setup.

Key facts

  • Pass rate: with no LoRA attached, 15 of 19 ladder runs on 15-25 Sep 2026 came back clean; the misses were 2 of 3 L4 Intense runs and 2 of 3 L5 Extreme gore runs, both softened rather than refused.
  • Price: $0.024 per second at 480p, $0.048 at 720p; a five-second clip is $0.12 at 480p, an eight-second clip is $0.192 — both under the flat $0.24 base Wan 2.2 charges per clip.
  • Limits: image-to-video only, exactly 5 or 8 whole seconds (any other value is rejected), 480p or 720p, up to three LoRAs in each of three slots, opening frame up to 20 MB.
  • Sources: every scored run is in the Wan 2.2 LoRA test report, the scoring rules are on our review methodology page, and the full parameter list is on the Wan 2.2 LoRA model page.

What we liked and what held it back

What we liked

  • Three independent LoRA slots for one clip. loras touches both denoising passes at once, high_noise_loras targets only composition and movement, low_noise_loras targets only fine detail and texture — you can, for example, keep skin clean while pushing grain and colour treatment onto the background alone.
  • The top rungs clear more often than on base Wan 2.2. L4 Intense rendered once out of three with no LoRA attached at all, and both L5 Extreme probes cleared more often than not, well ahead of the softening rate we saw on the plain endpoint.
  • A duration field that won't silently round. Ask for anything other than exactly 5 or 8 seconds and the request is rejected outright, so the length you're billed for is never a surprise.
  • Per-second pricing beats the flat-clip base endpoint. A five-second 480p clip here is $0.12, half of base Wan 2.2's flat $0.24, before any LoRA benefit at all.
  • A seed for controlled comparisons. Hold it fixed while sweeping a LoRA's strength and you can tell the LoRA's effect apart from generation noise.

What held it back

  • The top rungs still soften sometimes. L4 Intense softened in 2 of our 3 runs, and the L5 Extreme gore probe softened in 2 of 3 — a LoRA can push further, as our one L4 Intense test with a community LoRA at scale 1 rendered clean, but the base weights alone don't clear every hard rung.
  • Three slots to reason about. Deciding whether a LoRA belongs on loras, high_noise_loras or low_noise_loras takes some trial and error; put a style LoRA in the wrong slot and it can land on the wrong part of the image.
  • Fixed durations only. 5 or 8 seconds, nothing in between and nothing longer — for a 15- or 30-second take you need a different family.
  • No aspect-ratio field. The clip takes the shape of your opening frame; crop it first if you need a specific ratio.
  • No text-to-video task. Everything here starts from a still; there's no caption-only path on this endpoint the way base Wan 2.2 offers one.

What the clips look like

The gallery holds published, safe-for-work examples from the Wan 2.2 LoRA model page. Our content-ladder runs aren't shown; we report those results in prose.

Grain on the background, not the skin. A man leans back into his seat and turns to camera; a film-grain LoRA is applied only to the low-noise pass, so the texture lands on the room around him while his skin stays clean — the point of having a separate low-noise slot.

A rooftop turn, LoRA-free baseline. She pushes off a railing and walks along a rooftop at night, city lights sliding past — the plain base-model result a LoRA comparison should be measured against.

An ink-brush sword form. A figure completes a full sword form — blade sweeping down and around, sleeves trailing — while the frame keeps the flat, brushed look of an ink painting rather than sliding into photographic rendering; another LoRA-free baseline showing what the base model does with a stylised opening frame on its own.

Prompts that worked

Name the light source or texture you want a LoRA to touch, and say directly which pass it should land on if the result comes out wrong. A prompt that also describes the style in words tends to reinforce a loaded LoRA rather than fight it.

1. Targeting one pass with a style LoRA.

text
The camera stays on him as he leans back into the seat and turns to it. Apply the film-grain LoRA to the low-noise pass only, so the skin stays clean while the background takes the grain: he leans back into the seat and turns his head to camera.

2. A plain baseline, no LoRA loaded.

text
She pushes off the railing, straightens her blazer over one shoulder and turns to walk along the rooftop, city lights and the vending machine glow sliding past behind her, hair lifting in the night wind. Smooth tracking move, anime cel-shading.

Weak: loading a LoRA without naming what it should do in the prompt. Strong: prompt 1 — name the pass, name the effect, and describe the same effect again in plain words so the LoRA and the prompt pull in the same direction.

How far it goes

Between 15 and 25 September 2026 we ran our five-rung content ladder on this endpoint with no LoRA attached. L1 Suggestive, L2 Mature themes and L3 Strong rendered clean on every one of our runs. L4 Intense rendered once out of three, with the other two softened. The L5 Extreme restraint/impact probe rendered clean in 3 of 4 runs, and the L5 Extreme gore probe rendered clean in 1 of 3. Separately, on 26 September, we loaded a community adult LoRA at scale 1 and ran an L4 Intense brief once: it rendered exactly as written.

The page carries an unrestricted badge, and we add no content filter on our side; what a request returns depends on the still, the prompt and, when you load one, the LoRA itself.

Not tested yet: the content ladder with a LoRA loaded in every slot combination; whether high_noise_loras versus low_noise_loras changes how often the harder rungs soften; anime or illustrated opening frames on the ladder; two-women or two-men scenes above L1 Suggestive.

Adults only, in every prompt, still, LoRA and output. Never depict a real, identifiable person without their consent, and never load a LoRA trained on someone else's likeness without it.

Loading your own LoRA

Each of the three slots takes up to three entries, and each entry is a direct weight URL plus a strength. loras applies to both denoising passes at once and is the general-purpose slot; high_noise_loras reaches only the pass that decides composition and camera motion, so it's the right place for a movement or camera style; low_noise_loras reaches only the pass that resolves fine detail, the right place for grain, line art or a texture treatment. The opening frame still supplies the subject, wardrobe and aspect ratio — a LoRA restyles what's already there rather than replacing it.

Prove a LoRA combination at 480p before spending on a 720p render, and hold the seed fixed while you sweep a LoRA's strength up or down: a fixed seed is what lets you tell the LoRA's effect apart from ordinary generation noise. Naming the LoRA's style in the prompt as well as loading the file tends to reinforce the effect rather than compete with it.

We tested one such case ourselves: loading a community film-grain LoRA on the low-noise slot alone, at a neutral strength, kept skin clean while grain landed on the background — it worked exactly as the field is meant to.

What the community says

The talk outside our own tests is mostly about Wan 2.2's open weights and the LoRA ecosystem built on top of them, not this hosted endpoint by name. One Hacker News commenter running the base model locally on a consumer GPU summed up why LoRA control matters to this crowd: "Plus, I have full control on the loras used." That's exactly the appeal of a slot-based endpoint like this one, minus the local setup.

The complaint that matters most for a two-pass, three-slot design is the added complexity itself. On a Hugging Face thread about Wan 2.2's speed-up LoRAs, one user summed up juggling high-noise and low-noise LoRA combinations: "these split models are making things so complicated, i really hate it." Our own testing points the same way — sorting out which slot a given LoRA belongs in takes a little trial and error before the workflow settles.
