What this effect sends

This is the full prompt, word for word. Copy it, or open it in the generator and change anything you like.

Bright light blooms from behind the main subject, turning their outline into a softly glowing silhouette as a sheer curtain breathes in the breeze nearby. They turn slowly into profile, then look back over their shoulder toward the lens as the camera drifts closer. The person stays exactly as they appear in the photo.

Pictures that work best

  • A window, doorway, or bright open background behind the subject gives the light bloom a natural source to build from.
  • Standing, waist-up or full-body poses read better than tight close-ups, since the silhouette needs a visible shape to glow around.
  • Simple outfits with a clear outline (rather than busy patterns) hold their shape well as a silhouette.
  • Light or sheer fabric near the subject picks up the breeze detail nicely if your photo already includes it.

How it works

  1. 01

    Add one photo

Choose the photo to match the example: include both people for a shared gesture, and keep the face and any hands involved clearly visible. Upload your own photo or start with a Backlit Silhouette sample.

  2. 02

    Check the price

Backlit Silhouette defaults to a 5-second clip for $0.185. Swap the model or change the length and resolution before you run — the price on the button updates to match, and that's the whole cost of the clip.

  3. 03

    Generate

Your Backlit Silhouette clip renders in the background, lands in History and is never published.

Do the move yourself

Backlit Silhouette keeps one version of this shot. To give Backlit Silhouette your own motion or ending, write it yourself in Image to Video, starting from the prompt above.

What it does to your photo

Backlit Silhouette turns a portrait into a soft, glowing outline: bright light blooms from behind your subject, turning their silhouette into a softly glowing shape as a sheer curtain breathes in the breeze nearby. They turn slowly into profile, then look back over their shoulder toward the lens as the camera drifts closer. It's a graphic, atmosphere-first effect rather than an expression-driven one.

In our test runs on MiniMax H3, a woman in white standing in profile at a bright window glowed into a silhouette as the sheer curtain lifted, then turned and looked back at the lens at second four. A man at a sunlit window became a glowing outline as light bloomed around him, turning slightly toward the camera near the end. Both runs kept the silhouette soft rather than a hard black cutout, so some detail and shape stayed visible throughout.

Because the effect depends on a bright light source behind the subject, a photo with a window, doorway, or open sky behind them gives the bloom somewhere natural to originate; interior photos with no background light source will still get a generated glow, just without an obvious source in the original image.

It runs on MiniMax H3 for five seconds by default, and H3 itself goes up to 15 seconds and 2K if you want more. Studio also lets you move the same prompt to another model before you generate, such as Seedance 2.0 or Wan 3.0, and the price on the Generate button updates with every change. Our samples were all made on MiniMax H3, so other models will read the prompt in their own way.

It works well as an atmospheric opener, a graphic transition shot in a longer edit, or a soft-focus header image pulled from a mid-clip frame.

The prompt is public and editable. If you'd rather skip the curtain detail, open it in the generator and remove "as a sheer curtain breathes in the breeze nearby."
