Wan 2.7 Spicy Review: Every Rung Clean, Audio Included

Pick Wan 2.7 Spicy for uncensored image-to-video with audio in one file; it has no text or reference input, and 15 seconds is the ceiling.

Wan 2.7 Spicy is a single endpoint: one opening frame becomes 2 to 15 seconds of video at 720p or 1080p, with audio generated in the same pass or supplied through a track of your own. On our 25 September 2026 run, every rung we tried came back clean — L1 Suggestive (lingerie, a slipping strap), L2 Mature themes, L3 Strong, L4 Intense (an intimate scene between two adults), and both L5 Extreme probe types: L5a (consensual restraint and impact play between adults) and L5b (cinematic gore). Nothing was refused, and nothing was toned down.

The verdict

That is a rarer result than it sounds: most uncensored video endpoints hold the line up to L4 and then soften or refuse at L5, or pass one L5 probe type and not the other. Wan 2.7 Spicy cleared all of it, on the one task it publishes.

How it scores. The Spicy Index is mostly output quality — public blind leaderboards plus our own blind output test — with specs contributing 15% of the quality-and-capability base before the Freedom Score is included; the full breakdown is in the test report. Freedom Score 100.0 of 100: every rung on every run came back as written.

Key facts

  • Freedom Score: 100.0/100 as of 26 Sep 2026. Every content rung we ran on 25 September (L1 Suggestive through L4 Intense, plus L5 Extreme restraint/impact and gore) rendered clean; the L5 restraint/impact probe first passed on 15 September too.
  • Spicy Index: see the score card above.
  • Price: $0.1235 per second at 720p, $0.19 at 1080p. A 5-second clip is $0.6175 at 720p; a 15-second clip is $1.8525.
  • Limits: 2 to 15 seconds per take, 720p or 1080p, one required opening frame, no aspect-ratio field (the clip takes the shape of the still you send).
  • Sources: every scored run is in the Wan 2.7 Spicy test report, scoring rules are on the review methodology page, and the full parameter list is on the Wan 2.7 Spicy model page.

What we liked and what held it back

What we liked

  • Every rung, on its one published task. L1 Suggestive through L4 Intense, plus both L5 Extreme probe types, all came back as written on 25 September. No refusals, no softened runs.
  • Audio in the same file, two ways to get it. generate_audio produces sound aligned to the picture by default; supply your own track through audio_url and the clip is built against it, which is the route to lip sync or a music cue landing on a specific frame.
  • A dedicated field for what to exclude. negative_prompt (up to 500 characters) is a dedicated place to rule out a prop, a second person or a watermark the plate keeps reproducing — the main prompt is for motion, not exclusions.
  • A repeatable seed. Hold the seed fixed and change one field at a time; useful for comparing 720p against 1080p on the same shot before you commit to the pricier tier.
  • Wardrobe and pose come straight from your still. There's no aspect-ratio field: the clip takes the shape of the frame you send, so whatever the still settles — costume, body, framing — carries through untouched.

What held it back

  • One task, one modality. This family publishes image-to-video only — no text-to-video, no reference or extend task. Build the opening frame with an image model first.
  • Fifteen seconds is the ceiling, and the model package's own limits note says drift in hands and fabric becomes noticeable past ten seconds. Settle the look early and don't push length past what the shot needs.
  • No aspect-ratio field. The clip inherits the still's shape; crop the frame to your target ratio before you send it, because there's nothing to fix it afterward.
  • Higher-resolution audio tracks add nothing extra in cost but add time. Resolution changes both price and render time, so find the shot at 720p first and only re-render the chosen seed at 1080p.
  • Reference video and reference images aren't available here at all. For a recurring character across shots you'd need a family that accepts reference plates; this one takes a single still per call.

What the clips look like

We don't publish the clips from our content-ladder runs; the gallery below is the everyday register, taken from the published, safe-for-work examples on the Wan 2.7 Spicy model page.

Silk drifting in low gold light. A close, portrait-frame clip built entirely from one still: the fabric moves, the light stays fixed, and the 8-second length holds the drift for longer than a typical 5-second draft.

Backstage, then a look to camera. The showgirl clip inherits her costume, the bulbs and the smoke from the opening frame; the prompt only adds the strap adjustment, the mirror check and the turn.

A dune-sized throw of fabric. Wide framing, a lantern at her feet, the Milky Way overhead — the still fixes the scene, the prompt fixes one continuous gesture with the silk.

A gust pulling silk off the shoulder. The camera follows the fabric rather than cutting to a new angle, the kind of continuous single-gesture shot this endpoint is built for.

Prompts that worked

The still carries the wardrobe, the body and the set; the prompt should carry motion only. Name one gesture, one camera behavior and one note on sound, and use negative_prompt to rule out anything the plate keeps suggesting that you don't want.

1. One continuous gesture with fabric (5 s, 720p).

text
She sweeps the sheet of indigo silk down and across in front of her, then throws it back so it billows overhead, turning under it with her head tipped back. Sand streams off the dune crest in the wind, lantern flame guttering. Slow arc around her, starfield steady above, wind and snapping fabric.

2. A held look, then an exit (5 s, 720p).

text
She finishes adjusting the strap, checks herself in the bulb-lit mirror, then turns her head to camera and raises one eyebrow before stepping out of frame. Bulbs flicker, feathers stir in the draft, smoke drifts, muffled orchestra and applause building behind the wall.

Weak: "Woman with silk fabric, wind." The model has to decide what she's doing and where it ends. Strong: prompt 1. One gesture, one camera move, one ending, every choice made by you.

How far it goes

We ran our five-rung content ladder on this family's one published task, image-to-video, on 25 September 2026 (with an earlier restraint/impact check on 15 September). L1 Suggestive, L2 Mature themes, L3 Strong and L4 Intense all rendered clean, and both L5 Extreme probe types — restraint/impact and gore — rendered clean as well. Nothing was refused, nothing was toned down, on any run we recorded.

Freedom Score: 100.0 of 100. Every rung on the one published task came back as written.

The page label is Uncensored: we add no content filter on our side. There is no per-request content declaration in the request body, and the model itself did not pull back on any rung we tried — a contrast with siblings in the Wan line where image-to-video sometimes softens the top rung (see our Wan uncensored comparison).

Not tested yet: whether a closing line in the prompt changes how far a clip goes past ten seconds, since this family has no closing-frame field to anchor an ending; scenes with two women or two men; anime or illustrated styles.

Adults only, in every prompt, still and output. No real, identifiable person without their consent, and you need the rights to every file you upload.

Alternatives

  • A longer take from a still, similar price? LTX 2.3 Spicy runs 3 to 20 seconds at $0.019 a second at 480p, though its top rung softens more often than Wan 2.7 Spicy's did in our test. Our LTX 2.3 Spicy review.
  • A cheaper still-to-video option? Wan 2.2 Spicy is $0.019 a second at 480p, but only takes exactly 5 or 8 seconds and has no audio field.
  • More resolution tiers, still image-to-video only? MiniMax H3 Spicy covers 480p through 1080p from $0.038 a second, 3 to 15 seconds per clip.
  • A cheaper clip on a different producer's line? Seedance 2.0 Mini Spicy is ByteDance's budget uncensored tier.
