What this effect sends

This is the full prompt, word for word. Copy it, or open it in the generator and change anything you like.

The main subject glances at the lens, then looks away shyly and hides a smile behind the back of one hand, before peeking back with a soft laugh and holding the look a little longer than before. The camera holds close at eye level. The person stays exactly as they appear in the photo.

Pictures that work best

  • Close or chest-up portraits keep the hand-and-smile moment easy to read.
  • A spare hand helps; the effect needs it for the shy cover.
  • Smiling or neutral starting expressions both work.
  • Soft, even light keeps the face visible behind the hand.

How it works

  1. 01

    Add one photo

Choose the photo to match the example: include both people for a shared gesture, and keep the face and any hands involved clearly visible. Upload your own photo or start with a Coy Smile sample.

  2. 02

    Check the price

Coy Smile defaults to a 5-second clip for $0.185. Swap the model or change the length and resolution before you run — the price on the button updates to match, and that's the whole cost of the clip.

  3. 03

    Generate

Your Coy Smile clip renders in the background, lands in History and is never published.

Do the move yourself

Coy Smile keeps one version of this shot. To give Coy Smile your own motion or ending, write it yourself in Image to Video, starting from the prompt above.

What it does to your photo

Coy Smile is shy and flirty at the same time. Your subject glances at the lens, then looks away and hides a smile behind the back of one hand, before peeking back with a soft laugh and holding the look a little longer than the first time. The camera stays close at eye level, so every small change in the face reads.

In our test runs on MiniMax H3, a woman in a red gingham halter dress in a diner booth dropped her eyes and laughed shyly with her cheek in her hand, then looked back up at the lens with a big smile from second three. In a second run, a man in an open patterned shirt in a hallway ducked his head and covered his laugh with one hand before looking back up at the lens, grinning.

It works best on close and medium portraits with a spare hand. Very wide shots make the hand gesture too small to notice.

It runs on MiniMax H3 for five seconds by default, and H3 itself goes up to 15 seconds and 2K if you want more. Studio also lets you move the same prompt to another model before you generate, such as Seedance 2.0 or Wan 3.0, and the price on the Generate button updates with every change. Our samples were all made on MiniMax H3, so other models will read the prompt in their own way.

Use it for a sweet, playful profile clip, a light opener before something bolder, or a reaction shot in a story edit.

The prompt is public and editable. For a bolder ending, change "soft laugh" to "slow, knowing smile"; to skip the hand, delete "and hides a smile behind the back of one hand".
