What this effect sends

This is the full prompt, word for word. Copy it, or open it in the generator and change anything you like.

The main subject opens a black lace folding fan in front of the lower half of their face, looks over its edge into the lens with slow, teasing eyes, then lowers the fan to reveal a knowing smile and holds the look. Warm, low light; the camera eases in. The person stays exactly as they appear in the photo.

Pictures that work best

  • Close or chest-up portraits keep the fan and the eyes in shot together.
  • A spare hand helps; the fan needs a hand to appear in.
  • Evening, vintage or dark photos match the mood.
  • Faces toward the camera make the look over the fan land.

Models this effect runs on

The same prompt on different models. Pick by look and by price.

How it works

  1. 01

    Add one photo

Choose the photo to match the example: include both people for a shared gesture, and keep the face and any hands involved clearly visible. Upload your own photo or start with a Lace Fan sample.

  2. 02

    Check the price

Lace Fan defaults to a 5-second clip for $0.185. Swap the model or change the length and resolution before you run — the price on the button updates to match, and that's the whole cost of the clip.

  3. 03

    Generate

Your Lace Fan clip renders in the background, lands in History and is never published.

Do the move yourself

Lace Fan keeps one version of this shot. To give Lace Fan your own motion or ending, write it yourself in Image to Video, starting from the prompt above.

What it does to your photo

Lace Fan brings a little old-world flirtation. Your subject opens a black lace folding fan in front of the lower half of their face, looks over its edge into the lens with slow, teasing eyes, then lowers the fan to reveal a knowing smile and holds the look, in warm, low light while the camera eases in.

In our test runs on MiniMax H3, a red-haired woman in an off-the-shoulder knit opened a black lace fan that the prompt added, hid the lower half of her face and watched the lens over its edge, then lowered it into a knowing smile at second four. In a second run, a man in a cream shirt fanned the lace in front of his mouth with his eyes on the lens, then dropped it to show a broad smile.

Close and chest-up portraits work best, because the fan and the eyes share the frame. Evening outfits and vintage looks suit it, but the fan is added by the effect, so any face toward the camera works.

It runs on MiniMax H3 for five seconds by default, and H3 itself goes up to 15 seconds and 2K if you want more. Studio also lets you move the same prompt to another model before you generate, such as Seedance 2.0 or Wan 3.0, and the price on the Generate button updates with every change. Our samples were all made on MiniMax H3, so other models will read the prompt in their own way.

It suits a vintage or burlesque-styled intro, a coy end card or a dramatic beat in a costume set.

The prompt is public and editable. For a different fan, change "black lace" to "red silk"; for a quicker reveal, delete "with slow, teasing eyes".
