What this effect sends
This is the full prompt, word for word. Copy it, or open it in the generator and change anything you like.
The room sinks into near darkness. The main subject flicks open a small lighter, and the tiny flame lights their face warmly from below as they look straight into the lens over it. They hold the look for a long beat, then softly blow the flame out with the hint of a smile. The camera holds close and still. The person stays exactly as they appear in the photo.Pictures that work best
- Head-and-shoulders portraits keep the flame close to the face, where it matters.
- Dark or moody photos make the flame glow stand out.
- A direct gaze in the photo helps the long look over the flame land.
- If your subject is holding something, the model may swap it for the lighter.

How it works

Add one photo
Choose the photo to match the example: include both people for a shared gesture, and keep the face and any hands involved clearly visible. Upload your own photo or start with a Lighter Glow sample.
- 02
Check the price
Lighter Glow defaults to a 5-second clip for $0.185. Swap the model or change the length and resolution before you run — the price on the button updates to match, and that's the whole cost of the clip.

Generate
Your Lighter Glow clip renders in the background, lands in History and is never published.
Do the move yourself
Lighter Glow keeps one version of this shot. To give Lighter Glow your own motion or ending, write it yourself in Image to Video, starting from the prompt above.
What it does to your photo
Lighter Glow is all about one small flame. The room sinks into near darkness, your subject flicks open a lighter, and the tiny flame lights their face warmly from below as they look straight into the lens over it. They hold the look for a long beat, then softly blow the flame out with the hint of a smile while the camera holds close and still.
In our test runs on MiniMax H3, a woman in a black turtleneck lit a small lighter, held its glow at chin height with her eyes on the lens, then blew it out. In a second run, a grey-bearded man in a leather jacket flicked a lighter in a darkening room, held the flame under his chin while looking into the lens, and blew it out at second four and a half. No cigarette appeared in either run.
Close portraits in dim light work best, because the flame is the only light that matters. Wide shots make the flame too small to carry the scene.
It runs on MiniMax H3 for five seconds by default, and H3 itself goes up to 15 seconds and 2K if you want more. Studio also lets you move the same prompt to another model before you generate, such as Seedance 2.0 or Wan 3.0, and the price on the Generate button updates with every change. Our samples were all made on MiniMax H3, so other models will read the prompt in their own way.
Use it as a dramatic cold open, a teaser that ends on darkness, or a beat right before a cut to the next scene.
The prompt is public and editable. To keep the light on at the end, delete the last sentence about blowing it out; to make the flame a candle instead, change "a small lighter" to "a single match".
