What this effect sends

This is the full prompt, word for word. Copy it, or open it in the generator and change anything you like.

The person breaks into a high-energy street dance right away: within the first second they hit the beat with sharp footwork, then a full-body wave rolls from one arm through the shoulders to the other arm. By the third second they spin around in one quick full turn and snap into a hard freeze pose facing the lens, arms locked, chin up. The camera bounces and pushes in on each beat while keeping the whole body in frame, and holds on the freeze. The person stays exactly as they appear in the photo.

Pictures that work best

  • Use a full-body shot with the feet and hands in frame.
  • Open floor space helps the spin read.
  • A plain or dimly lit setting keeps attention on the movement.
  • Stand straight in the source photo, so the dance starts from a neutral pose.

Models this effect runs on

The same prompt on different models. Pick by look and by price.

How it works

  1. 01

    Add one photo

Choose the photo to match the example: include both people for a shared gesture, and keep the face and any hands involved clearly visible. Upload your own photo or start with a Groove sample.

  2. 02

    Check the price

Groove defaults to a 5-second clip for $0.185. Swap the model or change the length and resolution before you run — the price on the button updates to match, and that's the whole cost of the clip.

  3. 03

    Generate

Your Groove clip renders in the background, lands in History and is never published.

Do the move yourself

Groove keeps one version of this shot. To give Groove your own motion or ending, write it yourself in Image to Video, starting from the prompt above.

What it does to your photo

Groove puts a high-energy street dance in motion. Right away, within the first second, the person hits the beat with sharp footwork, then a full-body wave rolls from one arm through the shoulders to the other arm. By the third second they spin around in one quick full turn and snap into a hard final pose facing the lens, arms locked, chin up. The camera bounces and pushes in on each beat while keeping the whole body in frame, and holds on the final pose.

In our test runs on MiniMax H3, a young Southeast Asian man with a bleached-blond buzz cut, in a lime-green tracksuit and chunky white sneakers, in a graffiti-covered concrete underpass, hit sharp footwork within the first second, rolled an arm wave through his shoulders around second two, spun through a quick turn at second three, and ended in a wide-stance freeze facing the camera with both arms thrown up. In a second run, a young woman with long strawberry-blonde hair in a long cream knit dress and white sneakers, on a sand dune by the sea at sunset, kicked up sand with quick footwork within the first second, swept her arms wide in a wave by second two, whipped through a full spin with her hair flying around second three, and ended in a chin-up freeze with one arm raised high and the other flung out.

Full-body photos with room around the person, standing on open ground, work best. Cropped shots that cut off the legs or arms cannot show the footwork or the wave.

It runs on MiniMax H3 for five seconds by default, and H3 itself goes up to 15 seconds and 2K if you want more. Studio also lets you move the same prompt to another model before you generate, such as Seedance 2.0 or Wan 3.0, and the price on the Generate button updates with every change. Our samples were all made on MiniMax H3, so other models will read the prompt in their own way.

Good for dance intros, social clips and high-energy profile videos.

The prompt says "a full-body wave rolls from one arm through the shoulders to the other arm" and "spin around in one quick full turn". Try replacing the pose with a big jump, or ask for a slower, smoother groove.
