What this effect sends

This is the full prompt, word for word. Copy it, or open it in the generator and change anything you like.

The person starts half hidden behind the edge of the doorway or wall beside them. Within the first second they duck back completely out of sight, leaving only the empty edge. A beat later they pop back out much further, head and shoulders around the edge, with a wide grin and eyes on the lens. They duck back once more, then lean all the way out and hold the look with a playful smile in the final frames. The camera holds still at eye level. The person stays exactly as they appear in the photo.

Pictures that work best

  • Use a photo where only half the face and a hand are visible around the edge.
  • A plain doorway or corner gives the hiding motion a clean edge.
  • Keep the camera still and at eye level in the source image.
  • Leave room on the side they pop out toward.

Models this effect runs on

The same prompt on different models. Pick by look and by price.

How it works

  1. 01

    Add one photo

Choose the photo to match the example: include both people for a shared gesture, and keep the face and any hands involved clearly visible. Upload your own photo or start with a Peekaboo sample.

  2. 02

    Check the price

Peekaboo defaults to a 5-second clip for $0.185. Swap the model or change the length and resolution before you run — the price on the button updates to match, and that's the whole cost of the clip.

  3. 03

    Generate

Your Peekaboo clip renders in the background, lands in History and is never published.

Do the move yourself

Peekaboo keeps one version of this shot. To give Peekaboo your own motion or ending, write it yourself in Image to Video, starting from the prompt above.

What it does to your photo

Peekaboo is a playful hide-and-seek beat.

In our test runs on MiniMax H3, a young blonde woman with curly hair and freckles in a red cable-knit sweater, peeking half-hidden around a white hallway doorframe, ducked out of sight within the first second leaving only her hand on the edge, popped back out head and shoulders with a wide grin at second two, hid halfway again around second three, and ended leaning out of the doorway grinning at the lens. In a second run, a young man with dark curly hair and a thin moustache, in a white tank top under an open patterned short-sleeve shirt, standing in a warmly lit hallway at night, slipped behind the wall edge within the first second leaving the hall empty, popped his head and shoulders back out with a cheeky grin at second two and a half, and ended leaning out around the edge smiling at the lens.

Photos with a clear door frame or wall edge, and the person partly behind it, work best. Photos where the person is fully in the open give the hiding motion less to start from. Eye-level framing keeps the playful look natural. The effect leaves the person exactly as they are in your photo and only adds the motion, light and atmosphere.

It runs on MiniMax H3 for five seconds by default, and H3 itself goes up to 15 seconds and 2K if you want more. Studio also lets you move the same prompt to another model before you generate, such as Seedance 2.0 or Wan 3.0, and the price on the Generate button updates with every change. Our samples were all made on MiniMax H3, so other models will read the prompt in their own way.

Good for comedy clips, kid and family videos and reaction-style posts.

The prompt says "duck back completely out of sight" and "lean all the way out". Try making them only peek out partway, or add a laugh when they reappear.
