What this effect sends

This is the full prompt, word for word. Copy it, or open it in the generator and change anything you like.

A huge sheet of crimson silk drifts down from above in slow motion, sweeping past the person and billowing around them, its folds catching warm light. As it slides away it reveals the person looking straight into the lens. The person stays exactly as they appear in the photo.

Pictures that work best

  • A plain or dark background makes the fabric stand out.
  • Leave headroom above the person for the silk to fall.
  • Warm light in the original photo matches the fabric glow.
  • Name another fabric color in the prompt for a different mood.

How it works

  1. 01

    Add one photo

Choose the photo to match the example: include both people for a shared gesture, and keep the face and any hands involved clearly visible. Upload your own photo or start with a Silk Drop sample.

  2. 02

    Check the price

Silk Drop defaults to a 5-second clip for $0.185. Swap the model or change the length and resolution before you run — the price on the button updates to match, and that's the whole cost of the clip.

  3. 03

    Generate

Your Silk Drop clip renders in the background, lands in History and is never published.

Do the move yourself

Silk Drop keeps one version of this shot. To give Silk Drop your own motion or ending, write it yourself in Image to Video, starting from the prompt above.

What it does to your photo

A huge sheet of crimson silk drifts down from above in slow motion. It sweeps past the person and billows around them, its folds catching warm light. As it slides away, it reveals the person looking straight into the lens. The fabric is the star: it adds movement and color, and the reveal at the end brings the focus back to the subject.

In our test runs on MiniMax H3, a woman with long dark wavy hair in a fitted black long-sleeved dress in a photo studio disappeared behind a huge sheet of crimson silk drifting down in slow motion from the first second, its glossy folds filling the frame, and at second four it slid away to reveal her looking straight into the lens. In a second run, a dark-haired man with greying temples and stubble in an open-collar ivory satin shirt in a dim study saw a sheet of crimson silk drift in from above at half a second, was swallowed by its glowing folds from second two to second three and a half, and was revealed looking straight into the lens as it slid off his shoulders.

Works best on a standing portrait or three-quarter photo with a plain or dark background, so the crimson fabric reads clearly and the reveal feels clean. Space above the person gives the silk room to fall. A very red scene reduces contrast with the fabric. The effect leaves the person exactly as they are in your photo and only adds the motion, light and atmosphere.

It runs on MiniMax H3 for five seconds by default, and H3 itself goes up to 15 seconds and 2K if you want more. Studio also lets you move the same prompt to another model before you generate, such as Seedance 2.0 or Wan 3.0, and the price on the Generate button updates with every change. Our samples were all made on MiniMax H3, so other models will read the prompt in their own way.

Good for fashion, luxury and moody portrait content, and for graceful, slow-paced intros.

Change "crimson silk" to "midnight blue silk" for a cooler palette, or change "in slow motion" to "in real time" for a quicker drop.
