Vidu Q3 Spicy is Vidu's uncensored image-to-video endpoint: send a still, get 1 to 16 seconds back at up to 1080p, prompt optional. Between 15 and 25 September 2026 it passed 18 of 19 content-ladder runs — every rung came back exactly as asked except one L2 Partial run out of three, which was softened.

The verdict

The headline is L4 Intense (an intimate scene between two adults): it rendered all three times we ran it, against one of three on base Vidu Q3 in our test set. And it costs 5% less than base Q3 at every resolution, not more — the opposite of the pattern we found on the Seedance Spicy tiers we tested this round. What you give up is the seed field base Q3 has, and in our own side-by-side testing, two sensual prompts with no such request in the wording came back with more shown than we wrote.

What we liked and what held it back

What we liked

  • It cleared L4 Intense every time we tried. Three runs, three renders — a stronger result on that rung than base Vidu Q3 saw in its own test round.
  • It's the cheaper option, not the pricier one. $0.0665 at 540p, $0.1425 at 720p, $0.152 at 1080p — 5% less than base Vidu Q3 at every tier, unlike the Seedance Spicy tiers we tested this round, which all cost more than their base.
  • A still alone is a complete request. prompt is optional; in our own test, sending only the opening frame with no wording at all still produced a coherent, physically plausible clip.
  • Both L5 Extreme probes render in full. The restraint-and-impact probe passed all four runs, and the cinematic-gore probe passed all three.
  • Sixteen seconds in one take. Well past the 4-to-15-second range typical of this tier of model.
  • Fine hand-and-material work holds up. In the gallery's wheel-throwing example, a wet hand comes off spinning clay and leaves a visible streak on the potter's cheek — a small, continuous gesture that a lot of models blur or skip.

What held it back

  • No seed field. Base Vidu Q3 has one; this endpoint doesn't, so two identical requests here return two different takes.
  • It can drift past what a sensual prompt actually asked for. In our own side-by-side test, two of five ordinary sensual prompts — none of them asking for it — came back showing more than we wrote. Review clips before you use them unattended.
  • Camera instructions aren't always followed to the letter. In our tests, a prompt asking a subject to turn and face the camera with a smile twice ended on a tight, cropped shot of hands or torso instead of the requested eye-line — worth a retry if the exact framing matters.
  • L2 Partial was the one rung to slip. One of three runs stopped short of the requested level; the other eighteen runs across every other rung came back as asked.
  • image-to-video only. There's no text-to-video or reference-to-video contract on this family.
  • 1080p, not 4K. For a larger native frame, look at Seedance 2.0 Spicy instead.

What the clips look like

We ran a small side-by-side test of our own across several models on the same prompts, plus the published, safe-for-work examples on the Vidu Q3 Spicy model page. Our content-ladder clips aren't shown; we report the pass rate only.

A kiss, delivered plainly. The same two-person kiss prompt we ran across several models landed here as written: both women lean in, foreheads touch, and the kiss follows, fully dressed, lit steadily by candlelight throughout.

Two clips that went further than the prompt asked. A pool-slide prompt and a window-turn prompt — plain sensual motion, nothing like that in the wording — both came back showing more than we wrote. Neither was a content-ladder probe. We don't publish the frames, but it's a real pattern worth knowing before you send this endpoint anything unreviewed.

A face rising out of wet hair, no prompt at all. The gallery's close-up example was sent with an empty prompt field — the still alone carried the whole shot, and the water and hair movement it produced still read as coherent and physically grounded.

A chain of small gestures on the potter's wheel. The wheel-and-hands example asks for continuous fine motor detail: a wall of clay rising, thumbs opening the rim, one wet hand coming off to wipe a streak across a cheek. This is the kind of continuous, small-scale motion that a lot of video models blur through, and it holds together here.

Prompts that worked

Vidu Q3 Spicy reads the still as the whole scene; a short prompt just orders the beats. It runs fine with no prompt at all when the still already implies the motion, so save the wording for anything that isn't obvious from the frame.

Weak: "She turns and smiles at the camera." Broad instructions like this are where we saw the camera end up somewhere other than her face. Strong: prompt 1 or 2 — name the object, the hand, the exact beat.

How far it goes

Between 15 and 25 September 2026 we ran Vidu Q3 Spicy across our full content ladder: L1 Suggestive (lingerie, a slipping strap) and L3 Strong each passed three runs out of three. L2 Partial came back as asked on two of three runs, softened on the third. L4 Intense (an intimate scene between two adults) passed all three runs. L5 Extreme, tested here as two separate probes — L5a (consensual restraint and impact play between adults) and L5b (cinematic gore) — rendered on all four and all three runs respectively. The page label is Uncensored: we add no content filter on our side.

Base Vidu Q3 passed L1 through L3 at the same rate in its own test round, but only rendered L4 Intense on one of three runs, against three of three here — the one rung where Spicy's record is clearly ahead in our tests.

Separately, in a small side-by-side test across several models on five ordinary sensual prompts — none of them asking for it — this endpoint went further than written on two of them. That's not part of our scored ladder, but it's a real pattern: review a clip before you use it unattended, particularly anything with a person alone in frame or already near the edge of what's shown.

Not tested yet: the 16-second upper end of the duration range on the ladder (every ladder run we inspected was shorter); real photographs as the opening still; scenes with two women or two men above L1 Suggestive.

Adults only, in every still, prompt and output. Never depict a real, identifiable person without their consent.
