What this effect sends

This is the full prompt, word for word. Copy it, or open it in the generator and change anything you like.

The person takes one step forward and splits into four identical copies of themselves. The four walk away in four different directions, then all turn back at the same moment and stand in a row looking at the lens. The person stays exactly as they appear in the photo.

Pictures that work best

  • Full-length framing with open space on both sides works best.
  • Simple, uncluttered looks copy more consistently than detailed patterns.
  • A neutral standing pose keeps all four copies similar.
  • If the clones look different, ask for fewer copies in the prompt.

Models this effect runs on

The same prompt on different models. Pick by look and by price.

How it works

  1. 01

    Add one photo

Choose the photo to match the example: include both people for a shared gesture, and keep the face and any hands involved clearly visible. Upload your own photo or start with a Clone Split sample.

  2. 02

    Check the price

Clone Split defaults to a 5-second clip for $0.185. Swap the model or change the length and resolution before you run — the price on the button updates to match, and that's the whole cost of the clip.

  3. 03

    Generate

Your Clone Split clip renders in the background, lands in History and is never published.

Do the move yourself

Clone Split keeps one version of this shot. To give Clone Split your own motion or ending, write it yourself in Image to Video, starting from the prompt above.

What it does to your photo

The person takes one step forward and splits into four identical copies of themselves. The four walk away in four different directions. Then all of them turn back at the same moment and stand in a row, looking at the lens. It is a playful multiplication trick with a neat, symmetrical ending.

In our test runs on MiniMax H3, a young man with curly red hair in an orange coverall on an empty sunny car park took a step and split into copies from second one, four of him walked off in different directions, then all turned back at once and from second four stood in a row facing the lens. In a second run, a woman with a high ponytail and wire glasses in an orange pantsuit and white sneakers on a rooftop car park stepped forward and split into a second copy at second one, became four copies walking off in different directions by second two and a half, and all four turned back to stand in a row facing the lens by second four.

Works best on a full-body photo with enough open floor or ground for four figures to spread out, and a person who is clearly separated from the background. The copies are generated, so small details like patterns or accessories may differ slightly between clones. Cropped or seated subjects leave the copies little room to walk.

It runs on MiniMax H3 for five seconds by default, and H3 itself goes up to 15 seconds and 2K if you want more. Studio also lets you move the same prompt to another model before you generate, such as Seedance 2.0 or Wan 3.0, and the price on the Generate button updates with every change. Our samples were all made on MiniMax H3, so other models will read the prompt in their own way.

Good for jokes, group-style visuals and playful reveals. It works well as a bright, social-friendly clip.

Change "four identical copies" to "three identical copies" for a smaller group, or change "stand in a row" to "stand in a circle" for a different final formation.
