What this effect sends

This is the full prompt, word for word. Copy it, or open it in the generator and change anything you like.

Within the first second one of them raises both hands and cups the other's face, thumbs resting on the cheeks, and looks into their eyes. The other smiles and leans into the hands, eyes closing for a moment, then opens them to hold the gaze, faces close. By the third second both faces are close together in three-quarter view, and the camera pushes in to a tight two-shot and holds. Both people stay exactly as they appear in the photo.

Pictures that work best

  • Choose a photo where both people are close and facing each other.
  • Chest-up framing gives the hands and faces room.
  • Keep both faces clearly lit and visible.
  • Avoid photos where an arm or object blocks one of the faces.

How it works

  1. 01

    Add one photo

Choose the photo to match the example: include both people for a shared gesture, and keep the face and any hands involved clearly visible. Upload your own photo or start with a Face Cradle sample.

  2. 02

    Check the price

Face Cradle defaults to a 5-second clip for $0.185. Swap the model or change the length and resolution before you run — the price on the button updates to match, and that's the whole cost of the clip.

  3. 03

    Generate

Your Face Cradle clip renders in the background, lands in History and is never published.

Do the move yourself

Face Cradle keeps one version of this shot. To give Face Cradle your own motion or ending, write it yourself in Image to Video, starting from the prompt above.

What it does to your photo

Face Cradle is a gentle, close moment between two people. Within the first second one of them raises both hands and cups the other's face, thumbs resting on the cheeks, and looks into their eyes. The other smiles and leans into the hands, eyes closing for a moment, then opens them to hold the gaze, faces close. By the third second both faces are close together in three-quarter view, and the camera pushes in to a tight two-shot and holds on both faces.

In our test runs on MiniMax H3, a woman with a short pixie cut and small hoop earrings in a camel trench coat and a curly-haired, freckled man in a dark green overcoat, sheltering under an awning on a rainy night street, raised their hands and cupped each other's faces by second one, leaned in with eyes half closed and smiling by second two, and ended in a tight push-in two-shot with their noses touching. In a second run, a Black woman with short natural curls in a cream trouser suit and a red-haired woman in an emerald satin dress, facing each other by tall windows over a dusk city skyline, raised their hands and cupped each other's faces by second one, rested their foreheads together with eyes closed and smiling by second two, and ended in a close push-in two-shot, faces inches apart, smiling into each other's eyes.

Chest-up photos where both faces are visible and the two are standing close, facing each other, work best. Photos where the two are far apart or one is turned away leave the hands no way to reach the face. Soft, even light keeps both expressions readable. The effect leaves both people exactly as they are in your photo and only adds the motion.

It runs on MiniMax H3 for five seconds by default, and H3 itself goes up to 15 seconds and 2K if you want more. Studio also lets you move the same prompt to another model before you generate, such as Seedance 2.0 or Wan 3.0, and the price on the Generate button updates with every change. Our samples were all made on MiniMax H3, so other models will read the prompt in their own way.

A good fit for couple posts, anniversary clips and sweet story moments.

The prompt says "cups the other's face, thumbs resting on the cheeks" and "leans into the hands, eyes closing for a moment". Try swapping who does the cupping, or keep both pairs of eyes open.
