What this effect sends
This is the full prompt, word for word. Copy it, or open it in the generator and change anything you like.
Within the first second the light cools to deep blue dusk and fireflies start rising out of the ground all around the person. By the third second there are hundreds of them, warm yellow-green points of light swirling up past the face and shoulders, several drifting right past the lens as big glowing blurs. The final frames hold on a blue night scene packed with glowing fireflies, the person standing in the middle of them and smiling into the lens. The person stays exactly as they appear in the photo.Pictures that work best
- Pick a photo with grass or foliage around the feet so the fireflies appear to rise from something.
- Daylight photos work well. The shot cools to blue dusk, so a bright start makes the change more visible.
- Keep the face unobstructed. The final frames hold on a smile into the lens, with lights close to the face.
- If you want fewer lights, lower the number in the prompt. Large counts make a dense, glowing finish.

Add one photo
Choose the photo to match the example: include both people for a shared gesture, and keep the face and any hands involved clearly visible. Upload your own photo or start with a Fireflies at Dusk sample.

Check the price
Fireflies at Dusk defaults to a 5-second clip for $0.185. Swap the model or change the length and resolution before you run — the price on the button updates to match, and that's the whole cost of the clip.

What it does to your photo
Within the first second the light cools to deep blue dusk and fireflies start rising out of the ground all around the person. By the third second there are hundreds of them, warm yellow-green points of light swirling up past the face and shoulders, with a few drifting right past the lens as big glowing blurs. The final frames hold on a blue night scene packed with glowing fireflies, the person standing in the middle and smiling into the lens. The person stays exactly as they appear in your photo throughout.
In our test runs on MiniMax H3, a white-haired, white-bearded man in a royal blue linen suit and white shirt standing in tall grass by a lake watched the light cool to deep blue dusk by second one and a half, fireflies rise from the grass at second two, and hundreds of them swirl past him and drift by the lens as big glowing blurs by the end while he smiled.
Outdoor photos with grass, fields, a garden or a lakeshore look most natural, since fireflies rise from the ground. Mid-length portraits give the lights room to swirl around the body. Indoor shots and busy city backdrops work, but the effect feels less grounded. Very dark photos leave the blue dusk little room to read as a change. The effect leaves the person exactly as they are in your photo and only adds the motion, light and atmosphere.
It runs on MiniMax H3 for five seconds by default, and H3 itself goes up to 15 seconds and 2K if you want more. Studio also lets you move the same prompt to another model before you generate, such as Seedance 2.0 or Wan 3.0, and the price on the Generate button updates with every change. Our samples were all made on MiniMax H3, so other models will read the prompt in their own way.
Suits summer-evening posts, fantasy and storybook portraits, and calm atmosphere clips.
Open the prompt in the generator and change "warm yellow-green points of light" to "soft white points of light" for a quieter, starlight look, or change "hundreds of them" to "a few dozen" for a sparser scene.
