What this effect sends

This is the full prompt, word for word. Copy it, or open it in the generator and change anything you like.

The sky behind the person erupts into a meteor shower: dozens of glowing streaks rain across it. A few large meteors blaze down to the horizon and burst into orange flashes that light up the scene and the person's face. They tilt their head up to watch, then look back into the lens with a smile as the sky keeps falling. The person stays exactly as they appear in the photo.

Pictures that work best

  • Open sky behind the person is the key ingredient.
  • Dusk or night photos blend most naturally with a meteor shower.
  • A face turned toward the lens lets the flashes light them.
  • If the sky looks too busy, ask for fewer meteors in the prompt.

How it works

  1. 01

    Add one photo

Choose the photo to match the example: include both people for a shared gesture, and keep the face and any hands involved clearly visible. Upload your own photo or start with a Starfall sample.

  2. 02

    Check the price

Starfall defaults to a 5-second clip for $0.185. Swap the model or change the length and resolution before you run — the price on the button updates to match, and that's the whole cost of the clip.

  3. 03

    Generate

Your Starfall clip renders in the background, lands in History and is never published.

Do the move yourself

Starfall keeps one version of this shot. To give Starfall your own motion or ending, write it yourself in Image to Video, starting from the prompt above.

What it does to your photo

The sky behind the person erupts into a meteor shower, with dozens of glowing streaks raining across it. A few large meteors blaze down to the horizon and burst into orange flashes that light up the scene and the person's face. They tilt their head up to watch, then look back into the lens with a smile as the sky keeps falling.

In our test runs on MiniMax H3, a woman with long locs in an oversized olive shirt jacket sitting on the roof of an off-road truck in the desert at night looked up as a meteor shower streaked across the sky from second one, watched big fireballs crash beyond the hills in orange flashes around second three, then turned back to the lens with a wide smile. In a second run, a grey-bearded man in a burgundy beanie and cream fleece jacket sitting in a camp chair beside a white tent in the desert at night saw meteors start streaking at half a second, looked up into a full meteor shower by second two, watched a fireball hit the horizon in an orange burst at second three and a half, and turned back to the lens smiling.

Works best on a photo with visible sky behind the person, especially at dusk, night or in a clear open area. Photos taken against a wall or ceiling give the meteors nothing to fall through. A front-facing subject with a visible face lets the orange flashes read as light on them. The effect leaves the person exactly as they are in your photo and only adds the motion, light and atmosphere.

It runs on MiniMax H3 for five seconds by default, and H3 itself goes up to 15 seconds and 2K if you want more. Studio also lets you move the same prompt to another model before you generate, such as Seedance 2.0 or Wan 3.0, and the price on the Generate button updates with every change. Our samples were all made on MiniMax H3, so other models will read the prompt in their own way.

Good for dreamy, romantic or epic-feeling clips, and for turning a night photo into a cinematic moment.

Change "dozens of glowing streaks" to "hundreds of glowing streaks" for a denser shower, or change "orange flashes" to "white flashes" for a colder light.
