What this effect sends

This is the full prompt, word for word. Copy it, or open it in the generator and change anything you like.

The moment plays at normal speed for a beat, then drops into deep slow motion: hair, fabric, dust and droplets hang and drift through the air, before snapping back to real time.

Pictures that work best

  • Photos with loose hair, flowing clothes, water or dust give the slow motion something to show.
  • Action frozen mid-movement, such as a jump or a spin, makes the most dramatic ramps.
  • Wind, backlight and haze make floating strands and particles easy to see.
  • Stiff, static subjects show little change. Use Live Portrait for a calm moment instead.

How it works

  1. 01

    Add one photo

Choose the photo to match the example: include both people for a shared gesture, and keep the face and any hands involved clearly visible. Upload your own photo or start with a Speed Ramp sample.

  2. 02

    Check the price

Speed Ramp defaults to a 5-second clip for $0.265. Swap the model or change the length and resolution before you run — the price on the button updates to match, and that's the whole cost of the clip.

  3. 03

    Generate

Your Speed Ramp clip renders in the background, lands in History and is never published.

Do the move yourself

Speed Ramp keeps one version of this shot. To give Speed Ramp your own motion or ending, write it yourself in Image to Video, starting from the prompt above.

What it does to your photo

Speed Ramp is the editing trick from sports, fashion and music videos: the action plays at normal speed, then suddenly slows right down so every strand of hair and fold of fabric hangs in the air, before snapping back to real time.

A woman in a long knit dress on a sand dune got a breezy take: after a beat her hair lifted and fanned out in the sea wind and her dress swirled slowly around her, each fold easing through the frame. A dancer caught mid-leap in a dim concrete studio seemed to float in the air for almost the whole clip, his linen shirt billowing and chalk dust drifting through a shaft of window light.

The slow-motion middle is the dependable part. The snap back to normal speed at the end is not always visible, especially when the photo holds only a little movement. The effect needs something that can move: hair, loose clothing, water, dust or smoke.

Use it for dance, sport and fashion clips, product shots with liquid or fabric, or to add a dramatic beat to a travel reel.
