What this effect sends

This is the full prompt, word for word. Copy it, or open it in the generator and change anything you like.

A massive tornado touches down in the distance behind the person and churns closer, ripping up dust and debris. The sky darkens to green-grey and the wind throws their hair sideways while they stand their ground and look into the lens. By the end the funnel towers right behind them. The person stays exactly as they appear in the photo.

Pictures that work best

  • A visible horizon and open sky behind the person give the tornado room.
  • Loose hair shows the wind clearly.
  • Keep the person facing the camera for a steady, calm center.
  • If the tornado is too close too fast, ask for a slower approach in the prompt.

The same prompt on different models. Pick by look and by price.

How it works

  1. 01

    Add one photo

Choose the photo to match the example: include both people for a shared gesture, and keep the face and any hands involved clearly visible. Upload your own photo or start with a Twister sample.

  2. 02

    Check the price

Twister defaults to a 5-second clip for $0.185. Swap the model or change the length and resolution before you run — the price on the button updates to match, and that's the whole cost of the clip.

  3. 03

    Generate

Your Twister clip renders in the background, lands in History and is never published.

Do the move yourself

Twister keeps one version of this shot. To give Twister your own motion or ending, write it yourself in Image to Video, starting from the prompt above.

What it does to your photo

A massive tornado touches down in the distance behind the person and churns closer, ripping up dust and debris. The sky darkens to green-grey, and the wind throws their hair sideways while they stand their ground and look into the lens. By the end the funnel towers right behind them. The slow approach builds tension through the whole clip.

In our test runs on MiniMax H3, a man with messy black hair in a washed denim jacket and white T-shirt standing in a golden wheat field under dark clouds stood his ground as a tornado touched down on the horizon in the first second, churned closer through a green-grey sky ripping up dust, and by the end towered right behind him. In a second run, a woman with short platinum hair in a red plaid shirt and brown waxed jacket on a wheat-field dirt road with a red barn saw a funnel touch down in the distance at second one, had the wind throw her hair sideways as it churned closer by second two, and stood her ground with the tornado towering right behind her by the end.

Needs a photo with visible sky and open space behind the person, since the tornado forms on the horizon and approaches. A field, road, beach or open lot works well. Indoor or enclosed photos give the storm nowhere to appear, and dark skies in the original can hide the funnel. The effect leaves the person exactly as they are in your photo and only adds the motion, light and atmosphere.

It runs on MiniMax H3 for five seconds by default, and H3 itself goes up to 15 seconds and 2K if you want more. Studio also lets you move the same prompt to another model before you generate, such as Seedance 2.0 or Wan 3.0, and the price on the Generate button updates with every change. Our samples were all made on MiniMax H3, so other models will read the prompt in their own way.

Good for dramatic trailers, storm-chaser style edits and moody clips that build tension.

Change "green-grey" to "deep orange" for a sunset storm, or change "touches down in the distance" to "touches down far away" for a more distant start.
