MiniMax H3 Lite Review: Uncensored NSFW Video at 480p From $0.025 a Second

Pick MiniMax H3 Lite for cheap 480p drafts and 768p takes with sound; every run we tested came back as written, but we have not compared its picture quality.

MiniMax H3 Lite is the low-cost tier of MiniMax H3, released on 27 October 2026. It writes 4 to 15 second clips with sound at 480p or 768p, and SpicyAPI serves it as three endpoints: text-to-video, image-to-video (an opening frame, plus an optional closing frame) and reference-to-video. The model is positioned for trying ideas and producing batches of variations, and that is how we would use it.

The verdict

On 27 October 2026 we ran our content test on all three endpoints, at 480p and 4 seconds. Nothing was refused and nothing was toned down. Text-to-video was run at two levels, Moderate and Very strong, one step below Maximum on our ladder, and both came back as written. Image-to-video and reference-to-video were each run once, at Very strong, and both came back as written. That is a short test of four requests, not a pass rate for every request. SpicyAPI adds no filter.

Pick it when the cost per take matters: 480p drafts to find the shot, then 768p once you like it. Look at MiniMax H3 when you need 2K output, and at MiniMax H3 HighSpeed if you want a 768p-only sibling that we also tested at Very strong. We have not tested how Lite's picture compares with either, so we do not rank them.

Key facts

  • Content limits: no filter on prompts, images or results. Four runs on 27 October 2026 at 480p and 4 seconds, no refusals, all as written.
  • Clip length: whole seconds from 4 to 15, default 5.
  • Resolution: 480p or 768p (default). A 16:9 clip at 480p came back at 864 x 480 and a 9:16 clip at 480 x 864.
  • Shape: 16:9, 9:16, 1:1, 4:3, 3:4 or 21:9 on text and reference; image-to-video keeps the shape of your opening frame.
  • Sound: every clip has a generated soundtrack. Put spoken lines in double quotes.
  • References: up to nine images, three videos (15 seconds in total) and three audio clips (WAV or MP3, 15 seconds in total). Send at least one image or video with any audio.
  • Prompt length: up to 7,000 characters.
  • Price: $0.025 a second at 480p and $0.04 at 768p, with the first five reference images included and $0.02 for each extra one. Reference video seconds are billed like output seconds. The model page shows the current price.

What we liked and what held it back

What we liked

  • Everything we asked for came back as written. Four requests across three endpoints, none refused and none toned down.
  • A cheap way in. At 480p a 5-second take is $0.125 before any reference charges. The same prompt can then be re-run at 768p.
  • Three ways to start. Write the shot, start from your own frame (with an optional last frame), or cast up to nine reference images and add video or audio references.
  • Sound included. Dialogue in quotes, plus a line starting "Audio:" for music and ambience, as the published examples do.
  • Room for references. Nine images, three clips of footage and three audio files in one request.

What held it back

  • We tested only 480p. The Very strong-level runs on Lite were all at 480p. We have no 768p content run for this tier, so we do not claim one.
  • No picture-quality comparison yet. We have not run a blind comparison against MiniMax H3 or HighSpeed, and we did not test character consistency, motion quality or clips longer than 4 seconds.
  • Short test. One run per endpoint at Very strong, with one extra text-to-video run at Moderate; a second run could differ.
  • No 2K. The top tier is 768p. MiniMax H3 offers a 2K tier.
  • Image-to-video needs a prompt. The prompt and the opening frame are both required. Write one line of motion.
  • Extra reference images add up. Past the fifth image each costs $0.02, and reference footage is billed per second, so a busy reference request costs more than a text one.

What the clips look like

The gallery holds five published examples from the MiniMax H3 Lite model page, all safe for work. Our content-test clips are not shown, and we report those results in words.

From text. A golden-hour rooftop pool scene at 768p, with soft lounge music and water sounds in the soundtrack, and the same prompt again at 480p so you can judge the cheaper tier directly. A vertical late-night kitchen scene with a whispered line of dialogue.

From a still. A beach scene brought to life from a single photo: the camera slowly orbits and the surf and gulls are in the soundtrack.

From references. A gala balcony scene where a couple from one reference image slip outside; the camera tracks them and a string quartet plays behind the glass doors.

The 480p and 768p rooftop clips use the same prompt, so you can compare the two tiers yourself. We did not measure the difference.

Prompts that work

  • Say what the camera does. "Slow dolly in", "camera slowly orbits", "tracking shot" all appear in the published prompts and were followed.
  • Write the sound as its own line. A closing sentence starting "Audio:" with music, ambience and a quoted line of speech.
  • Point at reference images by number. "The couple from Image 1" worked in the reference example.
  • Draft small, then raise the resolution. Run the idea at 480p and 4 seconds, then re-run the winner at 768p.

How far it goes

SpicyAPI adds no content filter. On 27 October 2026 we sent four requests to Lite with adult fictional subjects at 480p and 4 seconds and checked every result by eye. We do not publish the test prompts. Readings are as written, toned down or refused.

EndpointLevelResult
Text-to-videoModerateAs written
Text-to-videoVery strongAs written
Image-to-videoVery strongAs written
Reference-to-videoVery strongAs written

The two text-to-video runs used different aspect ratios (9:16 for Moderate, 16:9 for Very strong). No run was refused or blocked. The flat result does not tell us how a longer clip or a 768p run would behave.

Adults only, in every prompt and every source image. Never use a real person's likeness without consent, never depict anyone who could read as a minor, and keep your outputs private unless you have the right to share them.
