PixVerse V6 Max is the higher-quality tier of PixVerse V6, released by PixVerse on 20 October 2026. SpicyAPI serves it as two endpoints: text-to-video (pixverse/v6-max/text-to-video) and image-to-video (pixverse/v6-max/image-to-video). Clips run 1 to 15 seconds at 360p, 540p, 720p or 1080p, with optional generated sound.

The verdict

We ran our content test on 25 October 2026 (one Mature themes text-to-video run) and 26 October 2026 (the rest), at 360p, 5 seconds, sound off. The result is a clear line. Suggestive and Mature themes text-to-video requests came back as written. Strong and Intense requests were refused at submission, before anything was generated, and refused requests are not charged. The page label is Borderline, not Uncensored.

Those refusals are PixVerse's own checks on the prompt text and on the starting image; SpicyAPI adds no filter of its own. They happen up front rather than as a toned-down clip, so you learn immediately whether a request is in range.

Pick it when you want PixVerse's top picture quality at up to 1080p with a soundtrack, and your brief sits at Suggestive or Mature themes. Look elsewhere for Strong and above.

How it scores. The Spicy Index and Freedom Score are on this page's score card, computed from our test records. We have not run the blind quality test on this model yet, so its index is preliminary; check the card rather than a number printed here.

Key facts

  • Content limits: text-to-video came back as written at Suggestive and Mature themes, while Strong and Intense were refused at submission. Image-to-video: Suggestive came back as written, Mature themes was refused, and the Strong, Intense and Extreme restraint starting images were refused.
  • Clip length and size: any whole number of seconds from 1 to 15; 360p, 540p, 720p (default) or 1080p. Text-to-video offers 16:9, 4:3, 1:1, 3:4, 9:16, 2:3, 3:2 and 21:9; image-to-video keeps the shape of your picture.
  • Sound: generate_audio is off by default. On, the model generates ambience, effects, music and any line you put in quotes.
  • Inputs: a prompt of 1 to 5,000 characters, an optional seed, and for image-to-video exactly one first frame (JPG, JPEG, PNG or WebP, up to 20 MB). There is no last frame, reference mode, extend or multi-shot switch; those are on PixVerse V6.
  • Speed: about a minute and a half of model time for a 5-second clip at 540p in the model's published runs.
  • Price: billed per second of output; resolution and the sound switch change the rate. Refused and failed requests are not charged. The model page shows the current price.

What we liked and what held it back

What we liked

  • Refusals come early and cost nothing. Declined requests stop at submission, so you do not wait for a render or pay for one.
  • Up to 1080p and 15 seconds. A wide range of sizes, with eight aspect ratios on text-to-video.
  • Sound in the same pass. Ambience, effects, music and quoted lines can come with the picture.
  • Seed for comparisons. Fix the seed and change one thing in the prompt to compare takes.
  • Suggestive and Mature themes run as written. Within that range the text-to-video clips matched the request.

What held it back

  • A hard ceiling at Strong. Strong and Intense text-to-video requests were refused, as was the Mature themes image-to-video request.
  • Starting images are checked too. The Strong, Intense and Extreme restraint starting images we sent were refused at submission, so a source image does not get around the prompt check.
  • Image-to-video can go further than asked. Our Suggestive clip moved slightly beyond what the prompt described, so review the result before you use it.
  • Narrower than V6. No last frame, references, extend or multi-shot; those live on PixVerse V6, which is also cheaper per second.

What the clips look like

The gallery holds the two published examples from the PixVerse V6 Max model page, both at 540p and 5 seconds and safe for work. Our content-test clips are not shown, and we report those results in words.

From text, in vertical. A street violinist plays under a lantern-lit stone arch in falling snow, a crowd gathers and a child crouches at his open case. It was made at 9:16 with sound on, and the violin is audible on the soundtrack.

From a still. A flamenco dancer in a sunlit plaza turns with one arm raised and her skirt flaring while guitarists play in the foreground. The clip keeps the 16:9 shape of the first frame.

How far it goes

SpicyAPI adds no content filter. The checks below are PixVerse's own. We tested adult fictional subjects on 25 and 26 October 2026 at 360p, 5 seconds, sound off, and looked at every result that came back. Levels run Suggestive, Mature themes, Strong, Intense and Extreme; we do not publish the test prompts.

LevelText-to-videoImage-to-video
SuggestiveCame back as writtenCame back as written, slightly further than asked
Mature themesCame back as writtenRefused at submission
StrongRefused at submissionStarting image refused at submission
IntenseRefused at submissionStarting image refused at submission
ExtremeThe restraint-and-impact request was refused at submission; the cinematic request came back as writtenThe restraint request's starting image was refused; a cinematic request from a clothed starting image came back as written

Nothing came back softened: a request either ran as written or was refused before rendering. That makes the model predictable, but it also means a prompt at the edge can be refused where a similar one passes, so expect some trial and error near the line.

Adults only, in every prompt and every source image. Never use a real person's likeness without consent, never depict anyone who could read as a minor, and keep your outputs private unless you have the right to share them.
