MiniMax H3 Lite raises a useful question for adult video creators: does the lower-cost H3 tier preserve the requested NSFW level, or return a softened result?
Yes. In our October 27, 2026 launch-day test, MiniMax H3 Lite rendered suggestive (L2) and the strongest rung of our NSFW test ladder (L3) as written on text to video, and L3 on image and reference to video, with no softening or refusal. Text-to-video clips finished in about 22–26 seconds. It is a short test, not a guaranteed pass rate for every request.
The H3 Lite model page is the product entry. This report describes the observed levels, timing and output dimensions. For the cost and resolution decision between the new tiers, see H3 Lite vs HighSpeed.
What did the H3 Lite NSFW test show?
We ran four-second clips on all three endpoints of both tiers: text, image and reference to video. L2 and L3 identify levels in this test ladder; they are not interchangeable with every other model's test categories.
| Model and setting | Test level | Observed result |
|---|---|---|
| H3 Lite, 480p | Suggestive (L2) | Rendered fully; no softening or refusal |
| H3 Lite, 480p | Strongest rung (L3) | Rendered fully; no softening or refusal |
| H3 Lite image to video, 480p | Strongest rung (L3) | Rendered fully; no softening or refusal |
| H3 Lite reference to video, 480p | Strongest rung (L3) | Rendered fully; no softening or refusal |
| H3 HighSpeed text to video, 768p | Strongest rung (L3) | Rendered fully; no softening or refusal |
| H3 HighSpeed image to video, 768p | Strongest rung (L3) | Rendered fully; no softening or refusal |
| H3 HighSpeed reference to video, 768p | Strongest rung (L3) | Rendered fully; no softening or refusal |
The Lite finding concerns the returned content, rather than just whether the request completed. A completed request can still produce a softened result; that was not what we observed in these Lite tests.
HighSpeed also rendered L3 fully at 768p on all three endpoints. That observation gives context for the sibling model, but it does not show that either tier handles more NSFW levels or produces better pictures. The two tested configurations used different resolutions.
How fast was it, and what came back?
Each text-to-video clip finished in approximately 22–26 seconds of generation time; the image and reference clips took about 33 seconds. This is a short-test observation, not a promised turnaround for every duration, input mode or queue condition.
| Tested output configuration | Observed file dimensions |
|---|---|
| Lite, 480p, 16:9 | 864 × 480 |
| Lite, 480p, 9:16 | 480 × 864 |
| HighSpeed, 768p, 16:9 | 1344 × 768 |
One HighSpeed request for four seconds returned a 3.75-second clip. Requested duration and delivered file duration can therefore differ in this sample. The timing range alone does not establish a HighSpeed speed advantage over Lite.
What does H3 Lite cost on SpicyAPI?
H3 Lite costs $0.025 per output second at 480p or $0.04 at 768p on SpicyAPI. A four-second output budget is therefore $0.10 at 480p or $0.16 at 768p, before reference-input charges. These are rate calculations, not reported task receipts.
For reference-to-video, input video seconds are billed at the selected output rate. The first five reference images are free; each additional reference image costs $0.02. Audio references are free. Those additions matter when comparing a text-only clip with a reference-based request.
Lite supports 480p and 768p output, four to 15 seconds, and native audio. It offers text-to-video, image-to-video with a first frame and optional last frame, and reference-to-video. The reference limits are up to nine images, up to three videos totalling 15 seconds, and up to three audio clips; audio cannot be the only reference. The six output aspect ratios are 21:9, 16:9, 4:3, 1:1, 3:4 and 9:16. Prompts can be up to 7,000 characters.
The NSFW results above cover four-second clips on all three Lite input modes; longer clips were not part of this test.
Does this change the answer for other H3 versions?
The result belongs to Lite. It does not replace the observations in our original H3 NSFW report, and it does not remove the endpoint-specific differences discussed in the H3 Max refusal report.
The H3 versions comparison explains the wider family. Lite's useful addition here is a lower-cost option with an observed full L3 result at 480p. We have not established its relative character consistency, motion quality or performance on longer NSFW clips.
For a budget-led choice, Lite has the lower listed rate of these two new tiers and rendered both tested levels fully. A requirement for 768p is a separate decision: Lite offers it too, but our Lite NSFW observation here was at 480p. The comparison article separates those prices from the measured results.
FAQ
Is MiniMax H3 Lite uncensored?
Yes. In our October 27 tests at 480p, H3 Lite rendered L2 and L3 fully on text to video and L3 on image and reference to video, with no softening or refusal. It is evidence for the tested requests, not a guarantee for every input.
What did the H3 Lite NSFW test cover?
It covered suggestive (L2) and the strongest rung of our ladder (L3) on text to video, and L3 on image to video and reference to video, all four-second clips at 480p. All of them rendered fully.
Does MiniMax H3 HighSpeed also render L3?
Yes. It rendered L3 fully at 768p on text, image and reference to video. The text-to-video clips finished in approximately 22–26 seconds, while image and reference clips took about 33 seconds. This report cannot rank the two tiers by speed.
