Introduction
PixVerse V6 Max Image to Video animates one picture into a clip of 1 to 15 seconds at 360p, 540p, 720p or 1080p. The picture is the first frame, the prompt says what happens next, and sound is optional: switch generate_audio on for ambience, effects, music and dialogue written in quotes. V6 Max is PixVerse's higher-quality tier of PixVerse V6, launched on 2026-10-20. In our run a 5-second 540p clip took about a minute and a half of model time.
V6 Max takes exactly one first frame. There is no last frame, no reference mode, no extend and no multi-shot switch; for those use PixVerse V6.

Key features & highlights
The shape follows your picture
There is no aspect-ratio field: the clip keeps the shape of the image. Our 16:9 flamenco still came back as a 1024x576 clip at 540p.
One first frame
image_url takes one image: JPG, JPEG, PNG or WebP, up to 20 MB, with each side up to 10,000 px. For a clip that ends on a second image, use the last-frame option on PixVerse V6.
Optional sound
generate_audio is off by default. On, the model generates ambience, effects, music and dialogue you write in quotes together with the picture. Sound costs more per second.
Content review
PixVerse applies its own content review, and how far a request at the edge of it goes can vary from request to request. Requests it declines fail and are not charged.
Request parameters
| Parameter | Required | Description |
|---|---|---|
prompt | Yes | Required, 1 to 5,000 characters. Describe what happens after the first frame: the action, the camera, the light and the sound; the image already shows how things look. at least 1 characters · at most 5000 characters |
image_url | Yes | Required: exactly one first frame. JPG, JPEG, PNG or WebP, up to 20 MB, each side up to 10,000 px. |
resolution | No | 360p, 540p, 720p (default) or 1080p. Higher resolutions cost more per second. |
duration_seconds | No | Whole seconds from 1 to 15 (default 5). The price is per second, so length drives the total. |
generate_audio | No | Off by default. On generates sound with the picture: ambience, effects, music and dialogue you write in quotes. Default: |
seed | No | Optional whole number. Useful to compare one change at a time; it does not guarantee identical frames. |
Pricing
Billed per second of output. The resolution and the generate_audio switch change the price per second; seed does not. Failed or declined requests are not charged.

Use cases
Bring a still to life
Give the frame you already have and describe what happens next. In our example, a still of a flamenco dancer in a sunlit plaza became a clip in which she turns with her arm raised and her skirt flaring while guitarists play in the foreground.
Test a storyboard frame
Turn a key frame from a storyboard or a shoot into a moving shot to see how the scene plays before you build the rest.
Several takes of one frame
Keep the picture and the seed fixed and change one thing in the prompt, such as the camera or the light, to compare the takes.
Prompt guide & pro tips
Describe the motion, not the picture
The image already shows how everything looks. Spend the prompt on the action, the camera, the light and, if sound is on, a separate Sound: line.
A prompt is required
One to three sentences about the next moment are enough; the prompt can run up to 5,000 characters.
Use a frame that fits the clip
Pick a first frame with room for the action you ask for, in the aspect ratio you want, since the clip keeps the picture's shape.
Draft low, finish at 1080p
Try the motion at 540p or 720p, then rerun the prompt you like at 1080p. The price per second rises with resolution.
Use a seed to compare one change at a time
Keep the seed fixed while you change a single thing. It is useful for comparisons; it does not guarantee identical frames.
