VEED Dubbing Pro is the upper tier of VEED's dubbing API. Like the standard tier, it takes a talking clip, translates what is said, re-voices every speaker in a clone of their own voice and redraws the visible mouths to fit. What you pay extra for is control over how the dub sounds: 94 languages plus 14 regional accents, and a voice_clone_strength setting from 0 to 10 that decides how much of the original speaker survives in the new language.

The verdict

SpicyAPI serves it as one video-translate endpoint. The accents cover English for the US, UK, Australia and Canada; Spanish for Spain, Mexico, Argentina and Chile; French for France and Canada; Portuguese for Brazil and Portugal; Egyptian Arabic; and Chinese for Taiwan. A target without a region code gives the base language. The clip is billed per second, rounded up, at a higher rate than the standard tier; the model page has the current price.

Key facts

  • Content levels: no refusals in our runs on 29 October 2026. Suggestive was dubbed word for word; Strong and Intense clips came back unblurred and uncut. Mature themes and Extreme were not tested.
  • Input: video_url (up to 10 minutes of speech), target_language (base or regional code), optional source_language, up to ten keyterms, and voice_clone_strength (0 to 10, default 7).
  • Output: a single MP4 at the original frame size, re-timed to 25 fps. There is no caption file.
  • Price: per second of the source clip, rounded up, whatever the options. Check the model page for the live rate.
  • Speed in our test: 112 seconds for a 4-second clip, 137 seconds for an 8-second two-person scene.

What we liked and what held it back

What we liked

  • The accent is a target code. Our wine-cellar dialogue went in with es-MX as the target and came back in Spanish; choosing the accent takes nothing beyond the language code.
  • One dial for how native it sounds. voice_clone_strength trades the speaker's own colour and accent against a delivery that sounds local, so the same master can be tuned per audience instead of re-recorded.
  • The text was solid. The Spanish transcript matched the standard tier's word for word, and the suggestive German line we sent came back in English with nothing dropped or toned down.
  • Quicker on dialogue in our runs. The two-person scene took 137 seconds here against about four minutes on the standard tier, though one clip per tier is not enough to call it a rule.
  • Submitting a broken link is free. An unreadable video URL was rejected before a job existed, with no charge.

What held it back

  • You pay more for every second. The rate is above the standard tier's, and billing is per second of source, so a long interview gets expensive quickly. If a base language is enough, VEED Dubbing is cheaper.
  • Captions are on you. Nothing besides the video is returned.
  • 25 fps out, whatever went in. Our 24 fps masters came back at 25 fps and 0.04 seconds longer, so conform the dub before dropping it into an edit.
  • The dial is only partly tested. We ran 7 and 10; lower values were not tried, so we cannot tell you how native the bottom of the range sounds.
  • Faces drive the lip sync. Speakers who are small in the frame, covered or turned away get the new voice but little visible change around the mouth.

What we tested

We ran four clips through Pro on 29 October 2026. The first was a 4-second shot of a performer saying a flirtatious line in German, dubbed into English. The second, an 8-second English exchange between a woman and a man, went to Mexican Spanish at voice_clone_strength 7. Two short NSFW clips with a spoken line added in post went to British English and, at strength 10, American English.

All four completed in 26 seconds to just under 2 minutes. On the face-visible clip, frames from Pro and from the standard tier differed around the mouth, showing each redraws on its own pass rather than sharing one render. Four runs is a small sample. Long footage, overlapping speech, loud music beds and most of the accent list remain untested.

How far it goes

SpicyAPI adds no content filter. Every test clip used adult, fictional material; we checked the results by eye and against a transcription, and the inputs stay unpublished.

Read the Strong and Intense rows narrowly. The faces in those two clips were hidden or tiny and the line was laid over the footage afterwards, so the model had no speaking mouth to redraw and passed the frames through unchanged. That proves the footage is accepted and returned whole, not that the lip redraw works on a visible face at those levels. Each level had one run.

Adults only. Dub only material you are authorised to use: yourself, a performer who has signed a release, or a character you generated. Never dub someone's likeness or voice without consent.
