Cheap, fast MiniMax H3 video with sound, from $0.015 a second

MiniMax H3 X Turbo is the cheap, fast way to run MiniMax H3: a distilled version of MiniMax H3 X, the tuned H3 build that is only on SpicyAPI, from $0.015 per second of video. It is not an official MiniMax release. Its three endpoints, text to video, image to video and reference to video, make 2 to 15 second clips at 480p to 1080p with stereo sound and quoted dialogue, and in our runs a 5-second 480p clip came back in a median 37 seconds. All three endpoints are uncensored. Its content limits are slightly stricter than MiniMax H3's, in exchange for a lower price per second.

Starting price

Price
The low-cost way to run MiniMax H3Turbo starts at $0.015 per second of output at 480p, about half of H3 X, and the live price for each resolution is on the model page. Sound and prompt expansion are included in the per-second price.
Speed
5-second drafts back in under a minuteOver 43 runs, a 5-second 480p clip took a median 37 seconds from submit to finished file, queue included. 720p took about 37 to 49 seconds, and a full 15-second clip at 720p about 97 seconds, so you can try several versions of a prompt in the time one longer render takes.
Content
Uncensored on all three endpointsNo request was refused in our tests. Image and reference to video delivered an intimate scene between two adults, and reference to video also delivered NSFW scenes with male subjects. Text to video tones down some single-person and male-subject NSFW scenes, so start from an image or references for those. Content limits are slightly stricter than MiniMax H3's.

Working with MiniMax H3 X Turbo

Two characters, two quoted lines

Two characters, two quoted lines

In a motel room under red neon, a man on the bed says "Stay." and a woman at the door answers "Give me one reason." Both lines sit in double quotes in the prompt, with the rain and the neon buzz named as sound. In our speech-to-text checks quoted lines came back word for word with matching lip movement, so you can write a short exchange instead of a single line.

Animate a frame and keep its look

Animate a frame and keep its look

Our opening frame was a woman lying on a striped beach towel at golden hour, in sunglasses and denim shorts. The prompt only said what follows: she sits up, slides her sunglasses down, winks and laughs, with waves and distant music. Image to video keeps the shape of the opening frame, as there is no aspect-ratio field. The top-left panel is the opening frame, the other three are moments from the clip.

  • Cut a 15-second clip into timed shots

Give every shot a start time, such as "from 0 to 5 seconds", "at 5 seconds the shot cuts to" and "at 10 seconds". Our 15-second Turbo prompt with three timed shots came back cut at about 5 and 10 seconds, with the same two people in all three, and a 15-second clip at 720p took about 97 seconds.

  • Fast moves hold together

A fast 9:16 dance with spins, a high kick and a split came back with fluid motion and mostly correct limbs, with motion blur on the quickest moves. Keep the choreography to a few named moves and say where the dancer ends up, such as freezing and smiling at the camera.

  • A voice clip sets the voice, the prompt sets the words

Reference to video takes up to 3 audio clips. In our Turbo run with a voice reference, the quoted line came back word for word. The clip only sets how the voice sounds: write the words in double quotes and refer to the clip as Audio 1. Reference audio is free.

Who uses MiniMax H3 X Turbo

  • Vertical dance clips from one portrait

    Social and short-form teams

Vertical dance clips from one portrait

Reference to video works with a single portrait. A full-length photo of a woman with box braids in a cropped white tee and cargo pants came back dancing in a neon-lit studio at 9:16, with her braids and outfit kept; the prompt names the moves and asks for a hip-hop beat. The left panel is the reference portrait.

  • A training clip from one frame

    Sports and fitness brands

A training clip from one frame

A frame of a boxer wrapping his hands in a gritty gym went in as the opening frame. He finishes the wrap and grins at the camera, then the shot cuts to a wider angle and he throws a fast combination into the heavy bag. The left panel is the opening frame, the right one a moment from the clip.

  • Cheap first passes before the final render

    Adult-platform builders

Cheap first passes before the final render

Turbo is uncensored on all three endpoints at about half the price of H3 X, so an app for adults can run its users' frames and prompts through quick first passes and send the keepers to H3 X. Text to video tones down some single-person NSFW scenes, so start those from an image. Everyone on screen must be an adult. Pictured: a neon pool party at night, from a text prompt.

  • Two people kept from two portraits

    Event, fashion and character creators

Two people kept from two portraits

Send one portrait per person and refer to each by position. A woman in a deep green satin gown and a man in a black tuxedo went in as Image 1 and Image 2; they came back arm in arm at the top of a marble staircase, she leans in to whisper in his ear and he laughs, with both faces kept. The left column shows the two portraits.

Draft fast, finish when it works, with MiniMax H3 X Turbo

  1. Start every idea at 480p and 5 seconds

The price per second is lowest at 480p, and a 5-second clip came back in a median 37 seconds in our runs. Put spoken lines in double quotes and keep prompt expansion off for literal direction.

  2. Change one thing per take

Adjust the action, the camera or the line between takes instead of rewriting the whole prompt, so you can see what each change does.

  3. Go to 720p and the full length

When a take works, rerun it at 720p and at the length the scene needs, up to 15 seconds. Choose 1080p only for the bigger frame: in our crops it did not look sharper than 720p.

  4. Send the keepers to H3 X

For a final version, send the same prompt and settings to MiniMax H3 X, the quality-first model Turbo was distilled from. Both take the same parameters and limits.

  5. For single-person or male-subject NSFW scenes, start from an image

Text to video tones down some single-person and male-subject NSFW scenes. Use image to video from a frame of the people, or reference to video, which also delivered male-subject NSFW scenes. Everyone on screen must be an adult.

MiniMax H3 X Turbo prompts worth copying

  • A two-line exchange

For text to video at 16:9. Each character's line has its own quotes, and the sound is named at the end.

A roadside motel room at night, red neon flickering through the blinds. A man in an unbuttoned denim shirt sits on the edge of the bed; a woman in a leather jacket stands at the door with her hand on the handle. He says quietly, "Stay." She turns back and says, "Give me one reason." Rain outside, neon buzzing. Cinematic, moody, film grain.
  • A frame that winks back

For image to video from a frame of one clothed adult. Describe only what happens after the frame.

She sits up, slides her sunglasses down her nose, looks over them at the camera and winks, then laughs and flips her hair. Waves, wind, distant beach music. Warm golden light, handheld.
  • Two portraits, one entrance

For reference to video with one portrait of each person, in the order the prompt names them.

At the top of a marble staircase at a black-tie gala, the man from Image 2 offers his arm to the woman from Image 1; she takes it and leans close to whisper in his ear, and he laughs as they start down the stairs together. Crystal chandeliers, string quartet, murmuring guests. Cinematic, warm light.
