Qwen Image 3.0 Pro text-to-image is the high-detail tier of Alibaba's Qwen line, spending more on multi-element typography and on skin, fabric and glass. It takes 5,000-character prompts at 1k or 2k in eight aspect ratios.

Input

Text to image
887/5000
Up to 5,000 characters, Chinese or English. Quote every string that must appear and say where it sits; three or four short strings per frame is the reliable range. at least 1 characters · at most 5000 characters
Composes the frame rather than cropping it. 3:4 and 2:3 are the shapes covers and posters are laid out for; all eight cost the same per image.
affects price
1k or 2k, default 2k, and the only price variant. This tier's advantage is largely invisible at 1k — use 1k for composition roughs only.
affects price
Fixed at 1: one image per request. For several readings of one layout, send the same brief in parallel without a seed; with nothing but the draw changing, they stay directly comparable. no lower than 1 · no higher than 1
Prompt expansion
On by default on this family. It fills out thin briefs and rewrites detailed ones, so turn it off once your prompt is a precise shot description.
0/2000
Up to 2,000 characters of exclusions. On typography work it earns its place against duplicated lettering, stray watermarks and smeared label edges. at most 2000 characters
Prompt optimization
directagent
How prompt expansion rewrites your brief while `enable_prompt_expansion` is on: `direct` (default) rewrites it in a single pass; `agent` runs a multi-step rewrite that plans the image more thoroughly and takes longer. Only matters while expansion is on. No effect on price.
Seed
Omit while exploring; pin it once a layout lands, then change one cover line at a time to see the effect of each edit in isolation. no lower than 0 · no higher than 2147483647

A layout-aware image API built for legible on-image text

Qwen Image 3.0 Pro's text-to-image API returns one image per call from a prompt of up to 5,000 characters, at a 1k or 2k tier across eight aspect ratios. Alibaba describes this generation as built for dense, structured frames: text rendered as small as 10px, native rendering across 12 languages, and single-pass layouts such as newspapers, storyboards, menus and exam papers.

Content policy
Uncensored, with no maturity flag and no per-request declaration
Prompt budget
A prompt field sized for a full brief5,000 characters is room for the scene, the light, the lens and every string of type in one pass. That is over six times the 800-character prompt ceiling on the Qwen Image 2 endpoints in this same catalog, which is the difference between describing a photograph and specifying a page.
Structured content
Built for pages that are mostly typeAlibaba's documentation for this line describes single-pass layouts such as newspapers, storyboards, menus and exam papers, text rendered as small as 10px, and native rendering across 12 languages. Forms, dashboards and signage hold together here for the same reason a portrait does.
Reproducibility
What a seed does and does not promisePass the same seed with the same inputs to keep two runs comparable while you change one line of the brief. An identical image on every run is not guaranteed, so read a matched pair as close rather than exact.

What the Qwen Image 3.0 Pro text-to-image API is built for

num_outputs is a real field, fixed at 1

num_outputs is a real field, fixed at 1

The Qwen Image 2 endpoints in this catalog have no num_outputs field at all. This one declares it with a minimum and a maximum of 1, so a single call returns a single image and the field is there to say so plainly. For more than one draw, send the same prompt as parallel calls.

Eight ratios, including 21:9, and 1:1 unless you say otherwise

Eight ratios, including 21:9, and 1:1 unless you say otherwise

aspect_ratio takes 1:1, 16:9, 9:16, 4:3, 3:4, 3:2, 2:3 and 21:9, and falls back to 1:1 when the field is absent. The 21:9 band is the one worth knowing about for title cards and wide banners; the default is the one worth remembering, because a brief written for a tall poster still comes back square if nobody sets the field.

  • Prompt expansion is on unless you turn it off

enable_prompt_expansion defaults to true and lets the service fill out a thin brief before generation. Turn it off once the prompt already states every string, its position and the lighting, so a brief you spent an hour tuning is not rewritten underneath you on the next call.

  • Exclusions live in their own field

negative_prompt takes up to 2,000 characters, separate from the main prompt. A long creative brief then stays readable instead of trailing a running list of things to avoid: watermarks, duplicated lettering, stray reflections in the glass. Both fields travel on the same request.

  • Text rendering covers 12 languages

Alibaba's documentation for this model line describes native rendering across 12 languages and multiple fonts, with characters staying legible down to 10px. There is no language field on the request. Quote the string in the prompt exactly as it should appear in the frame, including capitalization and punctuation, and it is rendered as written.

Who Qwen Image 3.0 Pro text-to-image is for

  • Draft a screen instead of a scene

    Interface and product mockups

Draft a screen instead of a scene

Alibaba's material for this line lists simulated web pages, games and livestreams alongside photography. Describe the screen as a layout with named regions and quoted labels, and the same endpoint that renders a portrait returns a dashboard or a stream overlay with its type still readable at 2k.

  • Keep signage and packaging in the language it ships in

    Multilingual content teams

Keep signage and packaging in the language it ships in

Write the on-image string in its own language and quote it in the prompt; there is no translation step, no language field and no separate endpoint for non-English type. One brief can carry a headline in one language and a legal line in another, and both are rendered as written.

  • Generate worksheet and form-style layouts

    Generate worksheet and form-style layouts

A header, a numbered instruction block and answer lines is closer to what Alibaba says this generation handles in a single pass than a lone centered subject. Treat the prompt as a page brief: name each region, quote its text, and say where on the page it sits.

  • Collect variants without a batch field

    Rapid concept review

Collect variants without a batch field

num_outputs is fixed at 1, so a set of options is a set of requests. Send the same prompt as parallel calls with no seed, review the returned images side by side, and keep the wording that produced the frame you want to build on.

How to call the Qwen Image 3.0 Pro text-to-image API

  1. Write the whole brief into one prompt

Scene, subject, lighting, lens and every string of on-image text belong in the same 5,000-character prompt field. There is no secondary field for layout instructions, so position is described in words: top band, lower third, along the left edge.

  2. Set aspect_ratio before writing the detail

Pick one of the eight ratios first, because a tall frame and a 21:9 band compose the same brief differently. Leaving the field out is a decision too: the request goes out as 1:1.

  3. Leave resolution at 2k unless you are drafting

2k is the default and the tier this line's small type actually needs. Drop to 1k for composition passes you already plan to regenerate, and remember the tier is also what moves the price on this endpoint.

  4. Turn off prompt expansion once the brief is exact

Set enable_prompt_expansion to false when every string, position and lighting cue is already written down, so the service renders what you wrote instead of expanding it first.

  5. Route recurring artifacts into negative_prompt

Watermarks, duplicated lettering and stray reflections belong in the 2,000-character exclusion field rather than at the end of the main prompt, where they compete with the description for attention.

Qwen Image 3.0 Pro text-to-image worked examples

  • A dashboard mockup with labeled regions

Naming each panel and quoting its content keeps a data-dense layout from collapsing into a generic screenshot.

A dark-theme analytics dashboard mockup, top bar reading 'REVENUE OVERVIEW', a large line chart panel on the left labeled 'Monthly Growth', three small stat cards on the right reading '2.4K Users', '18% Churn' and '$92K MRR', clean sans-serif UI type, crisp 2k detail
  • A storefront sign in its own language

Quoting each string and its placement separately keeps a two-line sign from merging into one unreadable band.

A neighborhood bakery storefront at dusk, hand-painted sign reading 'PANADERIA LA ESPIGA' in gold serif capitals across the awning, a smaller enamel plate beneath reading 'DESDE 1974', warm window light, street-level photograph
  • A single-page menu at 3:4

A menu is the kind of dense, mostly-type page this generation is built for, and it fails visibly when the prompt leaves the sections unnamed.

A single-page restaurant menu on cream paper, header reading 'THE LATE HARVEST' in narrow serif capitals, three sections labeled 'SMALL PLATES', 'MAINS' and 'DESSERTS', four short dish lines under each with prices at the right margin, thin rules between sections, flat overhead studio light

Qwen Image 3.0 Pro text-to-image API questions

Writing prompts for text-heavy frames

Treat the prompt as a page brief. Describe the scene or the layout first, then quote each string of on-image text on its own and say where it sits: top band, lower third, along the right margin. Keep exclusions in negative_prompt instead of folding them into the description, and switch enable_prompt_expansion off once nothing in the brief is left vague, so the wording you tested is the wording that renders.
