Describe the light you want — get the same photo lit that way

Send a photo and a sentence about the light: golden sunset through a window, blue hour with the headlights on, a single spotlight from above. The people, the pose and the framing stay; the direction, colour and hardness of the light change, and the shadows follow.

Why relight with Relight

  • Light with a direction

With the same photo, prompt and seed, the Relight LoRA gave harder, more directional light and window-pane patches on the wall, where the base model made a softer change.

  • Day to night, within reason

A midday salt-flat photo became blue hour with the truck's headlights glowing, and a misty dawn shore became a golden sunset.

  • Write it like a lighting brief

Name the source, the direction, the colour and how hard it is: "warm golden sunset light coming through a window on the left, hard light with window-frame shadows".

  • It changes light, not content

Asking for a light source that isn't in the frame can add one — a window appeared for our sunset prompt — but where it goes is up to the model.

Who uses Relight

  • Give a flat shot a direction

    Photographers and studios

Give a flat shot a direction

An evenly lit studio shot becomes a single hard spotlight from above in a dark room, without booking the studio again.

  • Change the time of day

    Location and travel brands

    Change the time of day

A bright midday photo on a salt flat turned into blue hour, with the truck's headlights switched on.

  • One lighting look for a whole set

    Campaign teams

One lighting look for a whole set

Bring photos shot at different times to one look, like a low golden sunset behind a couple on a misty shore.

How to call Relight

  1. Start from a clean photo

Hard existing shadows can survive under the new light. Run Shadow Remover first when they are strong.

  2. Describe the new light

Begin with "Relight the image with", then name the source, direction, colour and hardness.

  3. Create the task and compare

The call is asynchronous: poll it or take a callback. Ask for clearly different light; very subtle changes can look much like what the base model does.

Relight questions

Where it fits

Relight adds light, and it works best on a clean base: if the photo already has hard shadows, take them off first with Shadow Remover. Pair it with Camera Angle Changer to build a set of matching shots, and finish with Image Upscaler when you need a bigger file.
