Kling 2.1 Master image-to-video animates an opening frame you supply into a silent 1080p clip. Pick 5 or 10 seconds, add a prompt and negative prompt for the motion; the aspect ratio follows your image and there is no closing frame.

What you can make with Kling 2.1 Master

  • From text

A written scene, held at this generation's best quality

Two dancers, a lit ballroom, a dip and a shared smile - this clip is built from nothing but a paragraph, at the highest fidelity this generation of Kling renders.

Text-to-video, 1080p, 5 seconds: dust drifting in the light beams and out-of-focus chandeliers.

  • From an image

A still brought to life without losing its wardrobe

The opening frame supplied the dress, the setting and the pose; the prompt supplied the wave curling forward and the wind catching the fabric - the still frame itself doesn't change.

Image-to-video, 1080p, 5 seconds: the still frame's stance came to life with the wave and the wind.

  • Honest comparison

The most expensive 1080p clip in this lineup

At 1080p this tier costs more per second than every other Kling model we offer, including the newer, generally sharper Kling 3.0; only 4K renders on 3.0 and O3 cost more. Pick it for this specific generation's look - not by default.

Text-to-video, 1080p, 5 seconds: one clear action framed at the center of a busy background.

Content test

Is Kling 2.1 Master uncensored? What we tested

We ran each level on our live setup and checked every clip frame by frame. A pass means the content was actually on screen, not just that the request went through.

How each mode behaves

Text to video
There is no seed field, so re-running an identical prompt returns a different take each time - useful for variety, unhelpful when you need the same result twice.
Image to video
There is no closing frame on this endpoint (no last_image_url) - only an opening frame. The face stayed small and slightly less detailed in one of our vertical-frame tests; a tighter opening crop on the face helps.
All modes
Kling reviews everything it renders. At the Mild level a prompt sometimes passes and sometimes doesn't; from Moderate up it is refused, and an uploaded image at that level is caught before generation starts. Refused requests aren't charged. For anything further, use one of our Spicy families instead - Seedance 2.5 Spicy, Wan 2.2 Spicy or MiniMax H3 Spicy.

Use cases

What to build with the Kling 2.1 Master API

  • The specific texture of Kling's 2.1 generation

If a previous project or reference render used this generation and the look has to match, Master is where you get its 1080p ceiling rather than the cheaper 720p or 1080p tiers of plain 2.1.

  • A single high-fidelity clip rather than a batch of drafts

Because it's the priciest 1080p option in this lineup, treat it as the render for a shot you've already blocked out elsewhere, not the place to iterate on wording.

  • Fire, fabric and dust in motion

Flame, steam, drifting dust and flowing gowns rendered naturally in our tests - the kind of atmospheric detail that reads well at this tier.

  • Silent footage for a project scoring its own sound

No audio track is generated at all, which suits footage headed into an edit that will add its own voiceover, music or sound design.

Prompts

Paste one into the playground as it is, then change one thing at a time.

  • Text to video

Set the light before the action

    Result from this prompt

An empty grand ballroom at dawn, pale light pouring through tall windows onto a polished parquet floor. Two women in their thirties, a couple, dance a slow waltz barefoot, one in a flowing ivory silk gown and the other in a black tuxedo with the jacket open; she dips her partner and they both smile. Slow circling camera, dust drifting in the light beams, chandeliers softly out of focus.

Why it works. Naming the light source and the room before the dancers gives the render a consistent atmosphere to hold for the full clip, and dust drifting in the beams is a detail this tier renders convincingly.

  • Text to video

A single dramatic beat, not a sequence of them

    Result from this prompt

A busy restaurant kitchen during dinner service. A chef in his fifties with a grey beard and a white jacket tilts a copper pan and a column of flame roars up from it; he tosses the food through the fire and glances at the camera with a proud grin. Medium close-up, warm orange light, steam and blurred cooks moving behind him.

Why it works. One clear action (the flame roaring up) framed as the center of the shot, with background activity left loose and blurred, reads more cleanly than trying to direct every person in the kitchen.

  • Image to video

Let the frame hold still, let the prompt bring the motion

    Result from this prompt

The giant frozen wave holds for a beat, then comes alive and curls forward over the salt flat while she stands her ground, her white dress whipping in the wind and the spray bursting into glittering mist around her. The camera slowly pushes in from behind her.

Why it works. The prompt tells the frame's static elements (the wave, her stance) when to move and in what order, rather than describing the whole scene from scratch.

This mode starts from your own image: add it in the playground before you run.

  • Image to video

Rule out the usual glitches up front

    Result from this prompt

Everything is weightless underwater. She turns slowly in the sunken ballroom, the emerald gown unfurling around her like smoke, bubbles rising toward the rippling light and the chandelier swaying gently above. The camera drifts in a slow orbit around her.

Why it works. Pairing an atmospheric prompt with a short list of things to avoid (blurry face, distorted hands, extra limbs, flickering) is a cheap way to steer a slow, complex camera move away from the model's usual failure points.

This mode starts from your own image: add it in the playground before you run.

FAQ

Kling 2.1 Master API FAQ

About Kling 2.1 Master

Kling 2.1 Master is the higher-quality tier of Kling's 2.1 generation, offering text-to-video and image-to-video at 1080p, in 5 or 10 second clips, with no audio track. Say it plainly: this is the most expensive 1080p option across the Kling models we offer, and unless the specific look of this generation is what you're after, Kling 3.0 usually costs less per second and reaches 4K with switchable sound. Kling reviews everything it renders: wording at the Mild level sometimes gets through, anything from Moderate up is refused, and a refused request isn't charged. If your work needs to go further, use one of our Spicy video families instead, such as Seedance 2.5 Spicy, Wan 2.2 Spicy or MiniMax H3 Spicy. SpicyAPI bills by the second in US dollars, with no subscription and no prepaid package. You are responsible for having the rights and consent for anything you upload and for how you use what you generate.
