Output choices: `720p`, `1080p` (default), `4k`. Aspect ratio stays intact, 720p and 1080p share a rate, and 4K costs more.
Creativity Level
LowMediumHigh
`low` is the default and stays closest to the source; `medium` and `high` allow progressively more invention. All three levels have the same rate.

Upscaling

Astra synthesizes detail rather than documenting what the camera captured. Faces can shift even with `low`, and high creativity allows more reinterpretation; the resolution menu does not include `2k`.

What it does

Wine-cellar subjects shown as a 360p input and an Astra 1080p interpretation with richer hair and glass edges.

Purpose-built models

Astra · low

Cellar frame: 360p source left and Astra low 1080p right, with new hair texture, glass edges and reinterpreted faces.

Inspect the result

Astra · 1080p

A close view of a woman’s profile in the cellar, comparing the source with newly interpreted facial texture.

Later cellar crop: source left, unprompted Astra low right, with added hair strands and changed profile detail.

Where it fits

  • Put the clip to work

Finish a selected AI-generated interior shot with richer hair, cloth and background surfaces. Compare an unprompted low-creativity pass with your intended art direction before committing the take to a campaign or a short film.

  • Inspect the result

Explore a stylized reinterpretation of ordinary footage when exact reconstruction is unnecessary. Review faces and objects across the sequence, since creative detail can change their appearance even at the lowest setting.

How to call the Topaz Astra API

  1. Prepare a short take

Choose a shot whose visual treatment can accommodate new details.

  2. Choose the treatment

Establish a low-creativity baseline, then add a brief description if a particular finish is needed.

  3. Review before delivery

Review the subject’s appearance through the entire movement before accepting the creative version.

The short version

Send a 1–60 second MP4 and begin with `creativity_level` set to `low`. Describe visible materials, lighting and the finish you want in a short prompt; avoid a long list of unrelated objects that competes with the existing composition. Check the no-prompt result before adding instructions, then change only the description or creativity in a follow-up trial. Download the complete video and examine facial identity and moving textures. A short 720p portrait took roughly two and a half minutes in our test; larger jobs need patience.
