A 1–60 second MP4 link or upload is required; clips outside the duration limit are rejected before acceptance. Starlight preserves the incoming soundtrack and shot length. at least 1 characters
Style presetaffects price
Precise 2.6Precise 2.5Fast 3Fast 2Mini
Default `precise_2_6` targets quality; `precise_2_5` targets realistic AI footage; `fast_3` prioritizes speed; `fast_2` emphasizes fidelity in faster diffusion; `mini` targets archives and severe degradation. Fast 2 costs less than the other four choices.
affects price
`1080p` is the default among `720p`, `1080p`, `2k`, `4k`; the lower pair shares a rate and the upper pair costs more. `fast_2` returns at least 1920×1080 even for `720p`, and 2560×1440 for `2k`; aspect ratio is preserved.

Precise, Fast and Mini provide five ways to reconstruct a damaged picture.
Largest output tier
4K
Deliver reconstructed footage at up to 4K while keeping its original framing.
Measured processing time
~75 S
A three-second cyclist clip took about 75 seconds at 1080p; this is a sample, not a deadline.

Upscaling

Reconstructed detail can alter faces, lettering and small shapes. Fast 2 does not deliver below 1080p, so selecting the 720p tier is not a way to obtain a smaller Fast 2 file.

What it does

A cyclist’s jersey, face and bicycle compared across compressed input and Precise 2.6 output.

Purpose-built models

Precise 2.6 · 1080p

Cyclist frame: low-bitrate source left, Starlight Precise 2.6 1080p right, with reconstructed cloth, walls and facial features.

Inspect the result

Starlight · 1080p

City façades and tram surfaces in aligned street crops before and after Starlight restoration.

Second street frame: compressed input left and Starlight right, showing reconstructed tram panels and building lines.

Where it fits

  • Put the clip to work

Rework a street clip that has been compressed until jerseys and masonry become smears. Restore a short selected take before integrating it into a city film, and inspect reconstructed faces at both normal speed and a paused frame.

  • Inspect the result

Give a chosen AI video take a more resolved finish or assess a damaged archive excerpt. Test representative movement and fine surfaces first, then decide whether the reconstructed appearance suits the intended delivery.

How to call the Topaz Starlight API

  1. Prepare a short take

Find a passage that includes both textured surfaces and a moving person.

  2. Choose the treatment

Try Precise 2.6 first, then judge whether a speed-focused or archive-oriented preset fits the material.

  3. Review before delivery

Approve the reconstruction only after checking faces and repeating patterns throughout the shot.

The short version

Choose the final take before requesting Starlight and keep each MP4 between 1 and 60 seconds. Use `precise_2_6` for an initial 1080p trial. There is no text prompt: changing the preset or source is how you steer this restoration. Compare several moments rather than judging one attractive still. Examine facial features, bicycle geometry and repeated wall patterns for invented texture or temporal changes. A brief Fast 2 portrait took about a minute in our run; allow additional time for longer footage.
